Totally disappointed!
First, we reserved a non-smoking room for a wedding at the Doubletree over 30 days prior to the event date. The room was going to total $140 altogether with taxes. We arrived last Saturday twenty minutes prior to check-in time only to be told they were SOLD OUT, but had one smoking room left available if we wanted it. We did of course need a room due to the wedding we were attending that night at the hotel. We reluctantly said yes and the staff assured us the room was "ionized" to delete the smoke smell from the room. 45 minutes later, we were allowed into the room only to have the room STINK of smoke. It did not smell "deodorized" or "ionized". I immediately called to the front desk only to have the staff member become irritated with me for not accepting the room as it was. I requested either a different room, if possible at ALL during our stay, or something taken off the bill price. She took $30 off the bill...so we felt somewhat better.
After that, we found chewed pen caps on the pens, an uncleaned coffee filter in the coffee machine, someone else's hair in the shower and on the bathroom floor and an air conditioner that didn't cool the air down no matter how cold we made the thermostat.
Horrible stay at this hotel. It mainly is poor management skills and poor maid skills. The food at the wedding was phenomenal...so if you are going to eat there, go for it....just rethink staying there.
