Mirror Lake Inn Resort & Spa, Lake Placid

If you're looking to get away from it all, in between winter and summer seasons is the time to go to the Mirror Lake Inn. The Inn has been around since 1924, which is a testament to how wonderful it is. The theme fits in perfectly with the Adirondack Mountains. - rustic, yet charming. The staff are all very nice and more than willing to help you in any way they can to make your stay is as comfortable and enjoyable as possible. If you get a room with a view of the lake, you will also have an incredible view of the Adirondacks. This was the most relaxing vacation I have ever experienced in my life. If you enjoy walking, a walk around the lake is perfect after an amazing breakfast in the dining room with a full view of the lake and mountains. The town is friendly with cute shops and nice restaurants and the PalaceTheatre is quaint and very affordable and features the most up to date movies. My husband and I came here to celebrate our 23rd anniversary and after we got here, we didn't want to leave. With very busy careers, we both arrived stressed to the max, but left more relaxed than we had been in years. We didn't want to go home! We will definitely be making this an anniversary tradition. If you enjoy a little more adventure, I understand there is quite a lot of activity during the summer season. It's a little piece of Heaven on Earth.....I honestly don't know how anyone could give this place a negative review!

Mirror Lake is amazing! Definitly worth the money! The spa is absolutely incredible, the rooms were beautiful overlooking the lake and the food was out of this world! My husband and I went for our 1 year anniversary and it was the perfect way to celebrate!

Have never been here, but sure it must be nice, I have lived in the Adirondacks for years and have still not run out of beautiful places to explore. On reading thru these comments I read two bad reviews....about the furniture...was it just rustic? The whole theme of the adirondacks is rustic, woodsy, and camp-like......no 14k gold furniture and cherub statues around here!

This area of New York is beautiful, and the location of this resort is nice, but overall it is not worth the money. The place is dark and the furniture is old and somewhat decrepit. The pool area is tight, dark, and depressing and boy does it get loud in there with kids around. The supposed four star restaurant is over rated as well, with poor service and mediocre food for huge $$$.

We paid $350 for a room in the Colonial house. The furniture looked like thrift store finds. We had a small table w/2 folding chairs (real class). The woodwork,bathroom floor, legs of wood furniture and areas around objects on top of wood furniture were thick w/dust. No pen or pad at the phone,mattress very high off floor you could see down feathers covering the carpet from the comforter,towels stacked on toilet tank (yuck). You could see edge of carpet not vacuumed. They would upgrade us for about another $100 - no thanks. They sent someone to clean it but it wasn't much better. Also found out during the nite, the a/c didn't work that well. I can say this room was not even worth what I'd pay at a chain. Very disappointing. The hotel has a beautiful setting & some of the rooms in the other buildings were nicer I understand but I wouldn't chance it.

Mirror Lake Inn is the best hotel ever! My family and I visit Lake Placid 2-4 times a year and we always stay at Mirror Lake Inn. We always come for the fall horseshow at the horseshow grounds across from the ski jumping complex and it is so easy to go back and forth a few times every day. The service is always excellent, every single room is so comfortable and cozy. The location is great. The short walking distance to the shopping area is so convinient! It is also nice and close to all the nightlife! I love Lake Placid and Mirror Lake Inn is the best part! The cottage caf� is the cutest and most delicious resteraunt in Lake Placid!

Good location; service was excellent, very warm. Good restaurant and food. The swimming pool needs to be improved a bit. My son complained about water being not clear...

Mirror Lake Inn is conveniently located just outside of town yet within walking distance to all. Breakfast was superb. Service was outstanding. Very impressed with cleanliness of bathroom and guest rooms. Definitely going back again. The views were awesome, atmosphere cozy, dining excellent and service friendly. Definitely try and make this a travel destination at least once. You won't be disappointed!!

Beautiful, quaint, a great place to get away, very restful. Loved reading a book while having tea on the veranda. Restaurant is excellent.

A perfect spot for a short winter vacation for the family. An easy walk into the town center but not in the middle of town. Beautiful facility, particularly the pool area. We stayed on the "pool/spa" floor and it was very convenient for a family. The staff was friendly - we had some maintenance problems (with the heating system) but they were addressed quickly. Basically, what you should get (but often do not) for the fairly high prices. A very nice experience.
