Disappointed!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 2/5/08
I went with a group to stay for a long weekend. When we entered the resort we saw crowds of teenagers on their senior trip. That is when the nightmare began! They were all over the place. I was unable to sit in the lobby and just relax because the students hogged up the entire lobby. The gym and pool was crowded with teenagers. I didn't enjoy the facilities because everywhere you turned there they were...teenagers. The room was not as nice as it is picture on the website. The pipes were showing on the ceiling of the closet area, there were sprinkler valves on the ceiling of the room. Very tacky! When we finally wanted to do some winter activities (snow tubing, ice skating, etc.) we were told that it was too icy and dangerous to do such things. I understand snow tubing, but isn't the point of ice skating to skate on ICE?! Needless to say, we were stuck in the resort that entire day, because the only shuttle bus that takes people to Holiday Mountain had had already left. We asked if we could walk outside around the area of the resort, they said yes but told us to be careful because they had not cleaned the ice around the resort. We didn't want to take that chance. The group was disappointed due to the fact that we spent most of the time in our tacky rooms, since the senior class trip took up most of the space in the resort. The only good review I can give is of the food. They gave us a variety of dishes which for the most part were pretty good. In conclusion, I would not go back to this place nor recommend it to anyone.

YUCKEEEEE
By Joan, 6/4/07
Well we went there for my nieces wedding..the wedding was done very nicely under a tent...but now to the rooms...first there isn't a elavator up to the first floor in the old section..and that is were they booked us..next the room was already occupied..so back down the stairs..then to the next room...1 bed..I had asked for 2 and a ice box because my husband in on insulen..ok, back down...then the next room..the smell was so bad..moldy smell, but ya know I had to get ready after a 2 1/2 hour ride...so I went to take a shower..shut to bathroom door..and the wall paper behind the door was hanging and the mold was an inch thick!!!!..down stairs again..now we were shipped to the other side of the hotel...room smelled, couldn't see any mold, but there was a leak that dripped and they put towel on the bathroom floor..the leak was from the ceiling..so we are never going back..my sister-in-laws, and my daughter and her husband had the same things wrong + some....we are going to report this to the local health dept. plus the fire dept...

Don't make this mistake!
By Kerri, 1/17/07
We booked reservations for six people right after Christmas (12/26/06), and 72 hours before our arrival they cancelled our reservations!! We had to scramble to find other accomodations and they offered no reasonable assistance or compensation. Don't make the same mistake, they can't be trusted in any professional capacity.

worst experience ever
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 8/18/06
We visit this resort every year, and bring a group of 150 people. This year we were surprised to discover that the hotel had experienced a terrible fire. The resort was closed for several months, and should have stayed closed. Our room was directly accross the hall. We could smell the smoke. The hotel had an overall moldy smell that immediately gave me a headache. I felt ill all weekend. The food was good and the waiters were wonderful, but our group paid a big price to stay in a gross place. The hotel was also overbooked. Don't go!

Stay Away!!!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 1/16/05
My husband and I made the fatal mistake of staying at this place last year. It looked really nice on-line and we thought it would be a great place to stay – but we were very wrong. From the second we walked in – it went straight downhill. No one greeted us at the counter – once someone finally came out they looked like they had just rolled out of bed. We reserved a room with a king size bed but were not given one. Our room smelled moldy. Our AC was mounted on the wall – but there were large gaps in the mounting so we could see into the parking lot. There was no room service and when we called down to request a list of service available it took almost two hours for someone to bring it up. The spa services were adequate – but they did nothing but push there products the entire time we were there. As a whole the hotel seems as though it has not been updated since the 1950’s. And the worst thing is this is not a cheap place to stay. I have received better service and a cleaner room at the Super 8 – stay home!
