BEAUTIFUL LOBBY BUT..........

the hotel lobby is very impressive and the restaurant has excellent food. The rooms,all though clean, haven't been checked to see if basic functions actually work. We rented 2 rooms and both of them had sinks that either wouldn't hold water or drain the basin. The bath tub in one of the rooms only allowed use of the shower but not the tub. When we checked out and informed the staff of the problems no apology was offered, just a comment that a note would be made of our complaints. We have family in the area and return visits will not include a stay at the genesee grande.

It was much more than I expected!

I had to be in Syracuse for a special occasionand chose the Genesee Grande mainly because of the location. I was pleasantly surprised, my room was very well appointed, comfortable and above all quiet. There was a rather large wedding reception at the hotel the weekend I was there and inspite of the party and the number of guests I never heard any of it!! When I have to be in Syracuse in the future I will choose the Genesee Grande for accommodations.

NOT WORTH THE PRICE

The lobby was beautiful, but the rooms are nothing to write home about. There was no refrigerator in the room. My tub was clogged no one came to fix it. If you want a place to stay in that area do yourself a favor and choose another hotel. They fool you by the beautiful entrance. That's why the price is so high.

Didn't get what I asked for!

This hotel is beautiful- and clean, top on my list of necessities. Also, the bistro food is excellent and the hotel provides a very nice shuttle service. Unfortunately, the staff seemed to have cared less about meeting my needs. I called to have someone fix my television, no one came. I also called in a wake up call for the next morning, and did not get a wake up call at all. When I complained at the front desk when checking out, the staff acted a bit remote and uncaring. When this lovely hotel chooses to employ a more competant staff, I would be glad to consider it again.

Very Nice!

This was a really nice hotel. The staff is great - especially if you are planning a business function/event. The restaurant in the hotel is wonderful. I had excellent meals every time!

A wonderful hotel

Genesee Grand is a wonderful hotel, it is beautifully remodeled, the staff was polite, the rooms were very clean the beds very comfortable the linen was very clean, overall I would recommend this hotel to anyone, you won't be dissapointed. I loved my stay and I had a nice peacefull sleep....

Might look nice, but has bad service

I spent a weekend in the hotel, and while it looks nice, that's about the extent of things. If a hotel wants to be high end, it has to act high end, which is not the case here. Our shower did not work, and I notified the staff of this after the first night. I was assured that an "engineer" would have the problem fixed. The next morning I was shocked to find that the shower still didn't work. So much for the engineer. If you are looking for a nice hotel, I would recommend looking elsewhere.

The service was excellent. The front desk was friendly and quick to handle any requests we made. The shuttle driver's were top notch and very courteous.

Great Rooms

I was surprised at how great the hotel was. I was welcomed from a long trip with a room that was relaxing and well appointed. I cant believe how big these rooms are. Free internet and a great restaurant. I am definitely going back.

AKC Welcome

The hotel itself is beautiful but don't expect a restful stay. Dogs are welcome but apparently people take a back seat. Forget a nap as it sounded like a kennel on a recent visit. The staff was sympathetic and polite but could only offer apologies for all the noise.
