Great place to stay!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/13/08
Do NOT stay in the Non View rooms (700's). Our stay would have been horrible had we not been upgraded to a Waterfront (100's) room. The innkeeper was highly apologetic when she learned our room had been rented. Bathroom issues: the toilet seat and bathroom floor were dirty, there was mold on the shower ceiling, there wasn't a fan, paint was peeling, and I had to put a bath towel over the window for privacy, as there wasn't a shade. The a/c window unit was not sealed properly, so we had bugs and we couldn't use the a/c and have the curtains closed for privacy. The room was dusty and the pillows were very old and flat. The Waterfront room was heaven! It was very spacious and CLEAN!!!! The bathroom was also clean and the extra sink outside the bathroom was a very nice feature. The a/c worked great and having the deck to sit out on and view the water was wonderful. The cleaning staff were very friendly and accomodating. We would definitely stay in this room again!!!

Never will go there again
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/29/08
The only thing good were the people at the front desk.  The room was so so for almost $200.00 plus taxes (2) per night should have been better.  A ground floor room is terrible because the floor above,  you heard all night long and even calling the desk did no good at 2 am.  The people manning the resturant seating are quite rude.  I would not recommend this motel.

August 2007

We went up to Alex Bay on A Tuesday with no reservations. This was the 3rd hotel we looked at and it being during Bill Johnston Pirate Days and were thankful to find a nice place to stay. We saw it across the bay from the because it's right on the water. We stayed in the newly renovated rooms (Black Bear Lodge) and was pleased with the cleanliness and room comfort. We paid $149.00per night and it was worth it! The view was spectacular from our private balcony. Some people even fished. You could see Bolt Castle during the day and lit up at night. The only negatives were the amount of spiders and bugs on the balcony, the goose droppings near the pool and some family (who are late sleepers) were awakened because they had an end room next to maid service closet. Great location, great view and they are building and improving the grounds. Suggest coffee makers in the rooms.

Looking forward to another visit
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 09/16/06
There wasn't anything not to like about Edgewood and our stay there. We were there for a wedding and weren't sure what to expect. The only disapointment was that the cafe wasn't opened. That aside, my husband and I are looking forward to visiting the area again and staying at the Edgewood. The service at the main resort resturant, as well as the food served, was great. Everyone was so very helpful and friendly. Our room couldn't have been better. The sounds of the water, the smell of the air, the sights around us were more enjoyable than I could possibly express. It was a feast for the senses. Thank you so very much. Again, we are looking forward to another visit next season. It was worth the 5 hour drive. Wonderful accomidations for the wedding reception. Got some great photos.

By A Yahoo! Contributor, 09/04/06
We went early in oct and they had begun their holloween festivitys and also had a live band the Volk's play. The rooms were nice, the beds comfy and there was plenty of nice places to dine close to the resort.

Fantastic Resort
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 06/28/06
Been going here since 1968 and have never been more satisfied. The rennovations are perfect. Love this place. Service was excellent, every personal matter taken care of at the earliest momment. Food was excellent, regardless of the few other worthwhile restaurants. But at the Edgewood, the food was always GREAT everytime.

What a Wedding Weekend!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 06/06/06
We recently celebrated our wedding reception at the Edgewood Resort with an evening dinner/with dancing for ~160 guests. We had over 25 rooms of guests staying at the resort. There were so many complements on the grounds, the rooms, the quality of the meals, the service staff, and of course THE VIEW! We look forward to bringing family and friends back for another event.

Our favorite place to stay in ABay!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 04/24/06
The Edgewood Resort is a wonderful place to stay! We had our wedding and reception there last year, and everything was like a dream come true. Even with lots of family coming from out of state to stay, everything went smoothly and our guests loved it. The general manager and her staff were like family to us and remembered us when we called back to schedule our anniversary reservation. We had been there in the past and loved it then too. We even have a favorite room. Great place! We highly recommend it! E & G
