Won't Stay At The Adam's Mark Again!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 12/03/08
The price was under $100 per night, and that's about the only good thing I have to say about the Adam's Mark. We did not receive the requested room AWAY from the I-90 traffic, so when we got into our room (well after midnight), we were not happy to have the noisy interstate right outside our window. I called and complained, and luckily they had another room to move us to. The guy that came up to give us a new room key and help us relocate was very friendly. The next room was quiet, but dirty. Looked like it hadn't been vacuumed in a decade, with piles of dust and dirt in every corner, and along all the walls. One of the beds didn't even have a comforter. There were no fitted sheet on the beds and no mattress covers, just a flat sheet draped directly over the mattress. YUCK. Nothing like waking up in the morning, laying on a bare hotel mattress! The bathroom wasn't any better. There was mildew growing in the shower. The shower had no water pressure, just went constantly from scalding hot to freezing cold, over and over. We had to call to get our room cleaned the next day, because the cleaning people never showed up...apparently the nice guy that moved us forgot to note that there was someone in the new room, because they had no idea we were even there. They even called the room the next morning to find out who we were, and how we got in that room. The food at Cafe Deco downstairs was not too bad, but not great either. When it was time to pay the bill, our waitress was no where to be found, so we asked another waiter to cash us out. He wasn't acting very quickly, so then some other waitress saw and came over to him and starting scolding him like a child, right in front of us. Totally inappropriate and uncomfortable.
Bottom line, we should have spent the extra $30-50/night and stayed somewhere else...and if we're ever in Buffalo again, that is exactly what we'll do.
