Glad we gave it another try
By MG, 9/3/10
Very easy to get to from anywhere on Long Isand. Clean room, pool and grounds. Rates pricy like all on Montauk are. Will return. Excellent for family/friend gatherings.

Great Place
By mom, 1/6/10
We go to this place one to two times a year with our son. My husband surfs and it is perfect. It isn't too fancy and great for families. No one bothers you and you do your own thing. If you are a beach person, stay here. We get ocean view everytime.

TOOK MY MONEY - Stay Away!
By ScottB, 9/22/09
I live in the western new york area and my girlfriend is from the long island area. We decided to plan a trip up to Montauk and to stay over night since it was a few hours from my girlfriends house. I did my research online and decided that this was the place to stay. I WAS WRONG. IN FINE PRINT ON THE WEBSITE IT SAYS YOU MUST BE 25 OR OLDER TO STAY HERE. My and my girlfriend both are 20. When we went to check in they asked for our ID and then told us that we were going to be charged for the full price and that there was nothing we could do. We turned to other hotels in the area and they had all been booked. We ended up driving home with $300 less in our pockets with nothing in return. Because of this I felt I had the right to dispute the charge, so I went to my credit card company. Today I received a letter letting my know that I lost the case. They stated that their policy explains that you must be 25 or older to stay here. The interesting thing about this is that they hide their policy on their website. It was no where to be found when I paid for the room. If I would have seen it I would not have paid for the room. Apparently it was also in the conformation email... because I'm supposed to read that..... Anyways the fact remains that I PAID $300 FOR A ROOM AND GOT NOTHING IN RETURN. THE ATLANTIC TERRACE MOTEL TOOK ADVANTAGE OF ME. I urge you to stay away. There are other hotels in the area which don't practice these bad business practices. Please book with THEM.

A Very Pleasant Experience
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 9/10/09
After reading several reviews of this resort, I was mentally prepared for a dump. Upon arrival, I was pleasantly surprised. After checking in, (our room wasn't ready because we arrived at 9:30 am and checkin is customarily at 3pm) we were told we could go and wait by the pool. Since the sun was shining and we already had our swimsuits on, we made our way to the pool. Through cute little walkways and lovely flowers planted tastefully throughout, we reached the very clean, heated pool. Situated at the foot of the ocean sand just several steps above this enormous expanse of the Atlantic Ocean, the decking and its numerous lounge chairs made it an inviting and comfortable place to enjoy the spectacular view. My preconceived fears about this place was quickly alleviated when we were able to get into our room by about 12:30pm. The room was pleasantly done without any smell of mildew or anything else. We had two comfortable queen size beds, a bath, a terrace with sliding doors overlooking the ocean. It was freshly painted with moulding all around. Remembering that this is a BEACH resort, we felt that the accomodations were comfortable, very clean, and the staff was very friendly and helpful. My husband and I had a wonderful stay at the Atlantic Terrace, and would recommend it as a great place to stay in Montauk. We plan on going back for many years to come!

Can't wait to go back
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 8/1/09
It's a great family place, right on the beach the Cafe is family run really nice people, open for breakfast and lunch. The location is walkable to town but not in town. Parking is a bit of a problem if you have more than one care. Rooms are clean but not updated. It's a family party motel. We've been going for 7 years and love it!

Beautifil,clean ,private
By My, 6/4/09
I loved this place with its old world charm .It was all freshly painted and well manicured with fresh flowers and a warm heated pool.on the beach. I saw the ocean laying on my bed .spotless brand new bathroom and the kitchen efficiency perfect, lacking plugs for coffee making and no microave.STay in Room 209.. beautiful.

the red menace everywhere
By c-labs, 3/7/09
i agree, had my wife and two children for a 2 night stay and had to endure the drunken rowdiness of the NYFD. My walls were paper thin and had to listen to stories of "the beast" .Will go elsewhere next time.

beach suite is the best
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 8/31/07
we stay every year in the beach suite. Separate bedroom 2 bathrooms, kitchen and living room. Private balcony right next to sun deck. It is the best room in the house. I love going out there every year. Yes the rooms need work, they finally fixed the suite up new tubs, frig. This is a family place if you don't have kids, don't bother. If your not a bit on the loud side, you'll probably get annoyed. The location is the best never move my car all week. I have been going there for 8 years and plan to keep going.

blue collar heaven
By Andi, 6/25/07
If you want to spend your weekend with families of New York's finest and bravest drinking and being rowdy with their families, this is your place. The atmosphere was just too loud with those guys. They took over the whole bbq area, the whole center of the hotel grassy spots. Many many playpens, trikes, skateboards, and water toys all over the place. It was just too much.

Great Place to Stay
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 5/4/07
My family and I went in August, 2005 and found it to be a perfect place to stay at. The room we had accommodated us all very well. The room was nice, clean and nicely decorated. The bathroom was very clean and many towels. We plan to going again this summer (2007). The location is the best on Montauk. You can walk everywhere. The only problem we had was that the hot tub was not working and my husband and I were a little disappointed. I did tell them at the front desk though and they were very sorry about it. Overall, we think it was great.
