Charming,very reasonable,quaint
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 01/09/10
I am surprised by all the negative comments! We have come to this place for a couple of years and REALLY love it. They have an inexpensive and delicious breakfast, the rooms are adorable-most with fireplaces, and the beach is PERFECT!!! The price is MORE than reasonable and the owners have always been pleasant, accomodating and helpful. I would HIGHLY recommend this gem on the water in beautiful Lake George!!

Ripped off
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/07/09
I arrived and the room I had reserved and had paid for was given away. The owner lied, was hostile, and would not admit mistake. Instead of trying to correct it in a nice way she was really rude. Eventually I was given another room, but not lakefront as I had reserved. Then, a day before my prepaid stay was over, her henpecked husband barged into the room, while we were dressing, without even knocking, demanding we leave as he thought we were suppose to be out. He was mistaken and hadn't even checked befor entering, in addition to being extemely rude. The woman owner was vain ( for an Old ---) and nasty, and not at all sorry for ruining our vacation. I was very specific about wanting a lakefront cabin in my reservation, and had driven a long way. Also, the beach was dirty as was the pool, so swimming wasn't an option. These people should understand that vacations are something people look forward to, go to great expense for, and should be treated as the patrons that they are. If they're tired of their work, then stop doing it.

Will never go back again!
By lulu, 09/14/09
In much need of better repairs. Had a broken chair on the deck didn't get it back until three days later. Kitchen appliances didn't work well at all. Only one burner at a time. The longe chairs at the beach were solid wood getting splinters no cushions. They even have an ice machine that you have to pay for. I also witnessed the owner Lillian down grading one of her emloyees which I was embarrassed for that poor housekeeper. No class at all.

Hospitality Sucks!!!
By Smith Family, 08/28/09
Horrible Owner!!! Nasty and Rude! The place is okay but she ruins your trip by having such a lousy attitude!! Will never go back because of it! She lost out on buisness for many years to come because of it!!! Lillian you are truley miserable, and should retire and sell too more friendly people!! My opinon this place is not worth the stay!!

We loved it and would definately go back!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 06/29/09
We went as a couple, looked at several places. You cannot beat the price and the ambiance of an older rustic motel in the mountains. Our room was clean, the bathroom was recently remodeled and pristine. We really liked the envirnmentally friendly shower head and light bulbs. We had a stone fireplace in the room. The manager sold us seasoned firewood, we had a fridge and we were good as gold. There was a cabin with a deck on the water but it was a bit musty so we opted for the queen bed room, we were very happy. The flat screen tv wasnt so bad either.

FANTASTIC VIEW - FANTASTIC PRICE
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 03/07/09
WE LOVED THE VIEW AND THE 2 BEDROOM CABIN WE STAYED IN. IT WAS VERY SPACIOUS AND CLEAN WITH A NICE VIEW. THE GROUNDS ARE BEAUTIFUL AND HAS A NICE BEACH TOO. THE BREAKFAST IS FANTASTIC IF YOU DON'T WANT TO COOK - IN THE MAIN LODGE WHICH IS DELICIOUS AND THE VIEW FROM THE MAIN LODGE WHILE YOU EAT BREAKFAST ON THE PORCH IS BREATHTAKING. NICE AND QUIET WITHOUT ALL THE NOISE AND BUSINESS OF THE OTHER RESORTS. THE RAIN WE ENCOUNTERED ALMOST ALL WEEK. NOT THE RESORT'S FAULT ANYWAY. WOULD DEFINITELY GO BACK. NICE HEATED POOL TOO. WE ARE A FAMILY OF 5 AND IS DEFINTELY WORTH THE PRICE!

Ewwww!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/13/08
the location on the lake was great however we would never take our family here. The dust and dirt inside the cabin must have been there for the past five years! The bathroom sink and tub was dirty and the towels had someone else's hair in them. The refrigerator had the last occupants food left in it. The owners were friendly but cleanliness is more important!

Would never stay at Alpine Village Resort again.
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 09/24/08
This was my first and last time at this resort. The first cabin we were going to stay in was dirty. The bead spread on two of the beds had what look like lotion on it. The microwave had food stuck all over it and the refrigerator was no better. They don’t take credit cards for over $100.00 because they now you will leave and dispute the charge.

27 years and still going!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 09/02/08
Have been going since my children were babies, now grown, married and they still go also. If you have a problem it is taken care of. If people complainit's their problem. I consider owners and staff friends and they always go out of their way to help and please us. If you want a lush hotel then don't go to the mountains. Enjoy nature and be carefree, life is too short. Paula

Perfect Spot
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/12/08
VERY affordable, charming, clean and comfortable. Great breakfast for under $5.00, on the lake, nice beach, activities, very nice little older man in charge. Booked a full week for the end of the month. I would HIGHLY suggust this adorable resort!!! Bring the family or go for a romantic getaway!
