Couldn't Get Out Fast Enough
By Julie, 6/26/10
A friend and I had reservations for a deluxe king suite and when we arrived, we were horrified by the room to which we were taken. It looked more like a low-budget motel room than a $180 a night hotel. The "suite" consisted of a room no more than 6 feet across, with a tiny loveseat. The bedroom was not much larger. Our view out the window looked onto a decaying rooftop lined with air conditioners. Best of all, the closet was in the bathroom! We returned to the front desk, said we had a family emergency, and headed back to Santa Fe. We got reservations at the opulent El Dorado in Santa Fe for exactly the same price. Don't waste your money on the La Fonda. Unless you've recently been released from prison, it will feel more like punishment than vacation.

Excellent Stay
By Disappointed, 8/22/09
The location is great and service was excellent. The staff at the front desk was friendly and very helpful. Their arrangement with the adjacent coffee shop was an unexpected plus. I would recommend staying at this hotel.

Christmas Holiday!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 8/12/06
We stayed during the Christmas holidays and it was beautifully decorated! Our room was warm and cozy and we also enjoyed the plasma TV! The kiva fireplaces in the rooms and throughout the hotel were lovely! We enjoyed the complimentary Starbucks coffee and hot chocolate in the lobby! Great location right in the middle of all the art and shopping! We'll definitely come back and visit!!

Thee place to stay in Taos
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 4/28/06
This place was an excellent. Upon check in the staff made us feel very comfortable. They explained all the diff aspects of the hotel from places to eat to local outdoor adventures. Our room was a little pricey, but the rooms were clean with all of the amenities that any great hotel would offer. They have there own private parking with full security system, as well as 24 hour front desk personell. Over all, i would recomend this hotel to anyone interested in a great stay in Taos.

Not What I Expected - Left Early
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 1/5/06
The most uncomfortable stay. Walls are paper thin and you can hear the all noises coming from the rooms around you. From, coughing, snoring, babies crying at all hours of the night, children running up and down the halls and playing in the mezainne. We had little to no sleep, not my idea of a vacation. We decided to check out early and head to Santa Fe. The only great experience was at Joseph's Table located in the hotel, it had great food, pleasant staff and excellent food.
