Red Lion Hotel Gallup, Gallup

Great value! Large clean rooms and great service. The air conditioning was not working when we arrived, so went to the front desk. She called maintenance who arrived before I could get back to the room. He had it fixed in two minutes. Dinner was good but a little on the high side. The breakfast was good with excedllent service---more than I expected for a free breakfast in a $72 room for two adults and two teenagers.

This hotel had a very friendy lady working when we checked in but the man who I guess owns it is not as friendly. First room we got the heater did not work, so we had to change rooms and the lady was very helpful with that. Rooms were very roomy and quite. Could use a little more cleaning but wasn't awful. They charge you up front the cost of the room, not when you check out, which was new for me. It is an ok place to stay for Gallup.

We arrived to a freezing cold lobby, for them to tell us their hot water was not functioning, and neither was their jacuzzi. Very Irritating. Offering rooms at $30 bucks each for the inconvenience. Not worth no shower!The receptionist helped us find a different hotel.

Dislike: I understood we can check in at 12 noon, however when we arrived at 2:50pm we had to wait until 3pm because the rooms were not cleaned and there was line of guests waiting. I liked the room because it was clean enough and large for the 3 of us. Dislike: there was junk in the pool early Sunday morning and we would have liked to use the pool early, however the maintenance didn't clean the pool right away so we had to wait again. The front desk people should receive a brushup on their customer service skills, they were not very nice. We liked the idea of free breakfast on the premises, however the eggs were runny and not cooked through but the rest of breakfast was fine. We asked for more towels however the person at the desk told us we had to wait.

This was a very spacious hotel. The room was oversized and very clean. The only complaint was the free breakfast! The eggs were runny and the resturant was not as clean as it could have been. If you stick to the "pre-packed" stuff you will be fine! Overall pretty good for this little town!!
