RED ALERT!! DO NOT STAY HERE!
By Melanie, 7/12/10
The Singapore Motel and staff are completely slimy, unscrupulous, and are in no way professional as a business nor are they even remotely humane. I booked a 2 night stay for July 4th weekend, drove 3 hours with my husband and 4 month old premie baby. I was confirmed on the phone by Geri and by a credit card transaction that I was paying 134 a night for a no thills room facing the parking lot which I did not mind having as long as I was at the beach. When we arrived, Pat aka Gene (She denies who she is and won't tell you her correct name.) who is either the wife of the owner, or is some how definitely an owner because I have dealt with her in the past is obviously frazzled because she has to do some work checking in some people. Many years ago SIngapore was supposed to be under new management so i gave it another try this year, and still the same blonde, botox woman works here and is nasty and miserable. I asked for my reservation and the girl Geri starts reading something of their own reservation paper work and says this is for one night correct? and shows me paperwork that had amounts crossed out and writing obviously changed. To make the long story short, PAT was trying to charge me 275 a night!!!! and Clearly they had my 134 a night changed over top of the numbers to 275. I said they were out of their minds if I was going to pay that amount and that was not discussed to me on the phone. They took a one night payment plus 14% tax equaling 153 off of my credit card to hold my reservation and now they were saying it was 275 a night. Botox Lady starts screaming "I cant deal with this..your not staying here...Its 4th of July weekend..this is our rates"..and screaming while I and my husband are standing there with my 4 month old baby in my arms...and she starts slamming her hands down on the desk like any minute she was going to become some raging nut and start hitting my husband. Meanwhile, there were several people in the lobby with some form of complaint such as not given the right room promised, and many complaints were of rates not being the same. It was nothing more than a Bait and Switch tactic that my husband and I did not fall for .The sad thing is many people did fall for it and pay the ridiculous prices because The Singapore staff kept saying everywhere was booked. We called the cops to see what they can do but mainly we wanted to make sure we got our deposit. and even the cops said this is not the first time they were called for SIngapore scams. So we spent one day of our vacation driving around looking for a hotel room to stay because the Singapore screwed us. Even the hotels we went to in hopes that they were not booked said nothing but negative responses about the Singapore. How do they sleep at night? To be so mean and nasty to anyone let alone a woman with an infant in her arms.. They are scum and I would Never go back that way again

GREAT LOCATION, LOUSY ROOMS,FUN PLACE FOR FAMILIES
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 7/27/09
The room left much to be desired...musty smell, desperately needing renovating overall. The pool was lovely and the staff seemed unhappy, but accomodating. No one cared what you did as long as it didn't create a problem...which was probably one of the nicest things about this place other than the location.

Great Location / Could Use Improvements
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 8/13/07
The location was perfect. Had a beach front room on the 2nd floor. Typical shore motel, needs updating. Bathroom was clean, if you want to nit pick the corners were not vacuumed. Turned off by the parking, 1 room per unit, was told if no parking available park in a certain area and move car in the morning or they would knock on our door if we were blocking someone (they should be more strict with the parking if there is 1 car per unit). They really need new bath towels, they were clean, but some had tears and had strings hanging. The woman in the evening was nice, but the day people were ok, but there was something about them. If this place had good management and took pride in their property it would be awesome. One last thing, the cafe' was a disappointment. They had no homefries the morning I was there and if you were waiting to be seated nobody paid attention to you, I understand if you are busy, at least yell out from the back and acknowledge you are there. If they were better organized the cafe would be great, especially being wildwood crest doesn't have much around. I've been going to Wildwood Crest for 23 years, this was my first bad experience. It was a last minute trip the places I usually stay at were all booked.

My Perfect Vacation
By alexa nicole, 3/21/07
What I liked about the Singapore was we had a nice suite overlooking the pool and ocean. When we got out of the pool we went down the stairs and our feet were in the sand. When we came back from the Boardwalk we were able to go back in the pool for nightswimming! We made lots of friends at the Singapore and we wish and will go back this year! I'm looking forward to seeing my friends again this year.

Not a bad place to stay
By bedazzled, 7/28/06
Its location is prefect and the pool is beautiful and heated at night plus its open late. Our room was ok, except for the bathroom. There was a stench on the floor which reminded us of pee...so it seems as if the room cleaning crew does not do as good job as it should. Other than that the room we clean, had fresh towels every day and bed had fresh linens daily also. The hotel was in the middle of renovations when we stayed there so its possible when we go back this year the rooms will be more upgraded and in better condition. All in all its not a bad place to stay, has a perfect and beautiful view of the ocean and if you aren't the type of person to spend in your room all day and enjoy the beach and pool then the Singapore is perfect for you. Rates are also fair and its not overpriced. The coffee shop served a wonderful breakfast/lunch every day and the service was very friendly and nice. Therefore, I recommend this place before you chose one of the newer bigger hotels. The newer hotesl are not worth it and are very overpriced, have rude service and very unfriendly staff! Plus their pools are much in the shade most of the time and are also very small and crowded compared to the Singapore. We shopped around quite a bit before we decided the Singapore was our place to relax and enjoy. Trust us...the newer hotels aren't worth the try!!!

We would go back!!!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 7/25/06
Saying that this place is a dump and should be condemed is a major lie! During my stay here the pool was beautiful and heated. Also it was open late and great for kids! Room service was average, but the place wasnt dirty. Staff was very nice. Although we had to really put in some talking to get a lower room rate, it was worth it. Theres also a grill and dining tables outside which adds on to the family quality. A must!

Better put on the brakes!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 8/21/05
If you like dealing with dishonest people than this is for you.My encounter with them was rediculous.I sent them a deposit early in the year for a reservation in the fall and cancelled a few weeks after I made it,plenty of time to recieve reimbursement .It has been months and still no refund, only alot of aggravation and lies from their staff.Don't get caught in this kind of a mess, there's alot more reputable motels out there for the same price!
