Decent for the price
By ,
Me and a friend were coming up to watch a game in Philly and needed a cheap place to stay for the night. The location's good; there's a McDonald's right beside the hotel, stores, other restaurants and gas stations nearby. The place seemed clean enough, except for the dried/caked on cheese in the microwave. The thermostat control was barely secured to the wall, there was no pot for the coffee maker, the handle on one of the desk drawers was attached and hanging by one screw, and whatever was fastened to the wall or elsewhere was loose and basically dangling. The door needed an extra kick to close and by looking at the frame it appeared someone had kicked the door in before. Anyway, like the title says it was a decent place for the price and the room was fairly large (2 queens beds). The staff were nice and we felt safe there. Like I said, we just needed a cheap place to stay for the night and we'll probably stay here again the next time we come up.

Never Ever Stay here!!!!!!!!
By ,
The hotel was not the newest or nicest by any means, though seemed clean and somewhat decent at first. After our stay the first night I went to the desk to ask for more towels, toilet paper, and tissues as they had not stocked us well in any of those items. The lady at the desk told us they would have to bring towels over later. A few hours later my boyfriend and I were "enjoying ourselves" in the room, a slight quiet kncok occurred and then a hotel employee instantly came barging in with towels. Upon complaint to the manager he had not a single apology tous but was adament that all employees always knock first and wait before barging into an occupied room. Make sure to never ever forget to bolt your door and only stay here if you don't mind your privacy rights being disrupted, and don't expect any hospitality from the manager of this establishment

love the jacuzzi rooms
By ,
Stayed here twice before. On one visit, the jacuzzi tub was dirty and so was the bathroom. On my second visit, all was well and we stayed in the same room. I plan on going again this week. The rooms have been updated since I was there last, so I will let you know how it goes.

Would go here again.
By ,
I actually enjoy staying at the Howard Johnson, I was a little skeptical at first but once I got there everything was great! From front desk service to the end of our stay, our needs were met with every request. It was a quiet area with bennigans and mc donalds on the right and left of the building. When I plan my trip again, I would be sure to include HOJO!

Dissapointing
By ,
My party and I travelled over into New Jersey from Philadelphia to try and get a better deal on a hotel. That was a mistake. The Howard Johnson looked nice from the road, but in reality left a bit to be desired. The reception on the television was snowy. Carpet was ripped away from the wall by the cooling unit and there was a groove in the ceiling. When I went to take a shower, I discovered a dirty, stained washcloth hanging on the hook behind the door. Then, the drain was nearly clogged to the point where I had to stand in two inch deep water while showering. The next morning, the continental breakfast left a bit to be desired, although the breakfast buffet was restocked when asked about. There was a lot of road construction right by the hotel, which made it a pain to get in and out of. The whole highway had a barrier in the middle of it, making navigation of the whole town rather difficult. If I ever go back to New Jersey(which is debatable, given how rude everyone was) I won't stay here again.
