Un Professional
By princess, 7/28/11
The 2 front desk employee's are very un- professional and liar. I suggest for Holiday Inn to give or send them to take the customer service training. Location is not good, looks sooooGheto. It looks nice only in the picture. So scary to sit outside the Lobby while waiting for your rides. Homeless are sitting on the bench smoking and keep on talking. I will not recommend this place .

Will never go back
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 9/10/10
This place was very noisy with people partying all nite in the halls and I found a roach in my room, so cleanliness is a problem. Desk people were nice, but staff wasn't nice at all.

Disgusting!
By Ann, 9/8/09
Unprofessional stuff, they cheated us with the price on phone as much as twice and gave us a smelly room! Would never ever recommend to anyone. All the high star ratings are written by the staff.

Horrible
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 3/3/08
This was not a good experience for me and my fiance to spend our engagement. The front desk was not professial. The hallway had a fowl smell. The staff had their kids running around in the lobby. The breakfast was not Fresh either. My room smelled like urine. I wouldn't recommend this hotel on my worst enemy. Then don't talk about the "GHETTO" shuttle to NEW YORK CITY the drivers are arrogant and they do not give out accurate information. DONT STAY HERE TRUST ME!!!!

GR8 PLACE TO STAY
By Ronnie, 2/29/08
I think anybody cant find better place than this the hotel provides great service in terms of the service and customer support, the frontdesk are very helpful, and the breakfast is wonderfull. The people work over there are really helpfull, they are ready to support you all the time.{they even provided me the map to brooklyne bridge from the internet} all tho' the construction work is for improvement and ultimately that is going to help us only. so ill request you to go for this hotel.

You NEED TO read my review!!
By NadeenT, 2/28/08
ITS LONG, BUT WORTH THE READ.. I THINK Went there Feb 08 with my bfriend and after reading the reviews was pertrified, but couldnt find anything cheaper which was close to the city, and didnt envolve sharing a bathroom...so booked, and we were very surprisd at how GOOD it was, the people who left negative reviews are either REALLY picky or went there while it was under old management. They are really unfair felt I just had to give a review and heres a TRUE account of my experience at Palace hotel... DISLIKES: The ONLY negative thing about this hotel, was the construction work which was going on, on the floor above.(One morning started at 7am!!) But hey the're only trying to make improvements so cant really fault em for that!! Plus we were there for shopping in NYC, so by the time it started, we were already up and soon ready to leave. LIKES: The hotel had good transportation links to the city, there IS a shuttle bus, we got that on our 1st morning, but found it cheaper to uses the local transport buses which are really frequent straight into manhattan for $2. But check times as dont think they run after midnight. The rooms were clean, and cleaned again everyday, the bathroom was clean, our room smelt fresh, the tv worked fine, the kingsize bed was VERY comfortable, could've slept through day,(if it werent for construction work... and the fact we were there to shop, not sleep in!) SOME of the staff werent overly polite, but there werent rude either, they just smiled breifly and went back to work. The cleaning staff were very polite. Breakfast was good, lots to munch on, the lady in the breakfast room doesnt speak english and doesnt make any acknowledging interaction with you and often talks to herself loudly in her language, when shes cleaning up but after the 1st day, you kinda find it funny. Erm... overall, had a good time. Its not a grand hotel, so dont be stupid to expect 5*grand treatment. If going to New jersey to shop or do whatever, then its everything you NEED from a hotel, clean, comfortable, affordable and breakfast included! No complaints really, would definatly, stay there again, if couldnt find cheaper in NYC....but hey satying in NYC might be worse cos its more busy!! HELPFUL HINTS: Dont go to secaucus mall, thers barely anyone there, probably about 6 other shoppers in the place..and they were probably workers on a break. New Port mall is worth visiting its very big. Hope this review helped, it really was a great time out there. Dont be put off by the negative people, they probably work for one of the neigbouring motels!! Enjoy your stay!!

Don't go there
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/1/07
This place is awful! The hallway has a horrible smell and the cable can never work right. You can easily smell the Indian food from your room, which is disguisting. The staff are arrogant and rude. The male Indian staff kept staring at everyone in a very weird way. There was a long line waiting to talk to the front desk, but the Indian woman totally ignored everyone and talked on the phone with someone who wanted to book a room. In stead of asking for the last four digit numbers of the customer's credit card, she repeated everything. Don't book any room from them with your credit card!!!!!

Will stay here again for future visits to NJ,NY
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/19/07
This is a good place at a reasonable price. Its clean.Me,my husband and my 2 yr kid stayed here for 3 days.I asked for a fridge, they provided me with one for 20$ for 3 days and also a microwave with it.There is also a commom microwave in the lobby. The breakfast is free and its good. The internet dosn't work in the room but works in the lobby. There is a hotel shuttle that takes us to time square-only mornings and night, but you can take a bus to portauthority for 2$. Its great for a reasonable price.I think u cant expect anything more for this price.

nightmare in new jersey
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 8/16/07
the location is good, as long as you can handle the public transportation. the palace claims there is a shuttle, but good luck trying to arrange to get to new york on it. also the front desk staff are rude and unhelpful, one even refused to give me a map, even tho she had maps of the route to the public bus.the staff members also like to argue and screaming with each other in public. the tv and remote did not work. if you are thinking of using a coupon or discount rate, make sure you get it in writing because the front desk refused to honor our coupon and tried to overcharge us $40. we left and went to super 8 nearby. the good news is: super 8 is around the corner and it is very nice with helpful people. dont go to the palace unless you are desperate.

No Complaints!
By Chel, 4/15/07
I've stayed at this hotel twice and each time was totally fine. The proximity to NYC is great especially for the price. The shuttle thru lincoln tunnel is in short walking distance and the room was clean, comfortable, and a great continental breakfast. Unfortunately there was a lot of construction going on outside on the 1 & 9 during my 2nd visit which made coming and going a bit difficult but that was no fault of the hotel. I would recommend this hotel without a doubt.
