The Best Service I've Ever Had!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 12/4/09
We were treated great thie minute we checked in. The room was nice and warm as soon as we opened the door. They had a great dinner deal that evening and it was one of the best restaurant experiences we've ever had with our kids. Will be coming back next year for sure!

Unhelpful Staff
By Beth, 10/16/08
Very pleasant view of the White Mountains. Hotel only serves breakfast and dinner (starting at 5:30) and seemingly a great deal of tour bus traffic. The general manager and hotel front desk staff were not very helpful. In fact, one member of the front desk staff on Tues. 10/7 was more concerned with helping her grade school aged daughter (also behind the counter) with her homework work than helping us with our questions regarding local dining options and room rates. While speaking with the manager, another guest mentioned complimentary hour d ouvers available before dinner, but the hotel manager "would be too cheap to tell you himself". We left for another friendlier hotel in Bethel, Maine

Quaint Hotel from Another Time
By jandsbrake, 11/27/07
The hotel was very nice. The room was a good size and clean. The bathroom was small and I didn't necessarily feel that it was 100% clean. The shower curtain felt a little slimy but otherwise, it was fine. The room was very quiet--maybe because it was the end of the season. The location was beautiful--nestled in the White Mountains. The dining room felt like we were back in the 1950s. The wait staff were very nice. We had a fantastic waitress who made us feel right at home. I can't say that the food was all that great. I had a seafood dinner that included crab cakes, tilapia and shrimp. The crab cakes tasted like tuna and the tilapia had a strong ammonia taste. The front desk staff were OK. When I asked for towels for the pool, the front desk clerk kind of snapped at me and said that she would be over to the pool "in a minute." Fifteen minutes later we finally had towels. The pool was nice. This was a good value for the money.

Staff was wonderful
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 9/19/07
Upon trying to sign in early, I found that the front desk was helpful. Knowing that the room was not ready yet, they called housekeeping and told them we wanted to check in early so to clean the room for us soon. The room, had two double beds and was pretty decent in size. The carpets were a little dated. At dinner that night, our waitress was very pleasant and helpful. We had to wait a little longer than expected for our dinner, but the meal was well worth it. Breakfast in the morning was not so good. One of the waitresses kept yelling at the staff and we felt that if they were having problems it should of been addressed in private and not a full dining room. Overall My family can't wait to go back..close to hiking trails, and all the family parks, my kids loved the pool and game room.

Had a good time
By A Yahoo! user, 5/1/07
Stayed in Feb of 07. Very busy at the hotel. Rooms were adaquate and clean, comfortable bed and reasonable price. We liked the fact we could eat dinner have a few drinks and walk back to the room. There was entertainment the night we stayed and enjoyed the show. Pool area was small and over run with teenie boppers so we had to skip that. All in all we liked the hotel and would go back.

Dirty rooms, cold hot tub
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 2/17/07
The we stayed in were dirty, and despite our request were not cleaned while we were there. The hot tub and the sauna were apparently in disrepair as the temperature never rose above tepid, even after turning them on high and coming back latter. Okay location, but not worth staying here.
