a pleasant spot on the water

This is a nice privately owned motel. I was here with some other family members in June, 2005. The lakeview rooms are worth a few extra dollars. There are nice grounds leading up to a little beach on the lake. Larger Lake Winnipasaukee is also nearby, and cruises and boat tours are available. I'd recommend the Urban Bridge Trail that starts behind the downtown railroad station for a scenic, pleasant walk. Evenings are pleasant in town, with shops and outdoor restaruants by Lake W. We were travelling with a dog, and this is a great place to be with a canine. You can either walk right into town, or on the extensive motel grounds. A nice full-service diner/ice cream shop is also co-located with the motel, and was perfect for breakfast.

The Lake Motel

My family loves this little motel. It's across the street from the big lake, but has a beautiful private beach on the smaller lake, and it's the perfect spot for kids.
