10 reviews for Storybook Resort Inn, Glen
We will come back next year for our family week.
By Daniel R, 09/07/09
We had a wonderful "family time" adventure. We have already recommended it to our friends and family. Staff was excellent, we will be back next year for sure

not the storybook ending we wanted!
By RW, 08/31/09
First impression upon arriving at the Storybook was that it was ok, could use some sprucing up, but not bad. We found out the next morning that the story in our Storybook room was three blind mice! What few snacks we had were eaten and "calling cards" were left behind. When we reported it to the front desk, they weren't surprised but instead asked if we were sure that it wasn't chipmunks. We went to a major chain, but drove by later that day and saw that the room was rented again! We also found food wrappers under the bed from previous geusts. I would NOT recommend the Storybook Inn.

Creepy Place!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/30/07
We decided to stay at Storybook because it was close to Storyland and we though it would be quaint to stay at an antique inn. Our experience, however, will turn us towards big chain hotels the next time we return to Glen/North Conway. For three nights, we stayed in a "family suite" on the third floor of the spacious main house. We checked in on a Thursday and left on Sunday. During our stay, we were the only people staying in the main house and the office closes around 9 p.m. Because the front door of the main house remains unlocked at all times, we felt very unsafe while staying at Storybook. We also found a half eaten burger under the sofa and a mouse trap on the second floor of the house. The pool appeared well maintained. The restaurant, however, is now defunct and the rest of the inn resembles a ghost town. Perhaps "the place to stay" 20 years ago, it is definitely showing signs of neglect and disrepair. Although it is close to Storyland, they are plenty of new and economical places to stay in nearby North Conway.

decent place, family-oriented
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/30/07
We stayed up there with two families and booked at the last moment and were able to get two rooms side-by-side. The hotel was OK, rooms were clean and comfortable and the staff was very friendly and helpful. The outdoor pool needed some sprucing up but the indoor pool was great and the kids loved it. The grounds were good and it was a plus having a playground for the kids. The restaurant was "closed for renovations" so we had to venture out for food (no mention of this on their website) but the staff was very good at recommending a couple of family friendly places in the immediate area. The staff was great and they went above and beyond to make your stay a pleasant one. Overall, I think that this place is a decent choice to stay with your family especially with Storyland right around the corner (about five minutes away by car).

Great place for families
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/07/07
The amenities, pool playground, tennis courts were great. Kids hated to leave to go to SToryland, they had so much fun in the pool and on the grounds. We liked that there were lots of places for us to watch and talk while the kids were enjoying themselves! It was central to everywhere we wanted to go!

Great Place for Families
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/01/07
Rooms were clean, staff was helpful and gave us tips about local hikes and great restaurants! Kids loved the playground and we couldn't get them out of the pool to go to Storyland.

Will return
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/09/06
This place was great for our family. 5 min from Storyland. No need to deal with traffic & Conway shoppers.Connecting rooms with our friends was great. The heated indoor pool was wonderful. The playground kept the kids and us happy. The resturant worked fine for a breakfast and we only had to walk across the parking lot. The place was clean which matters more to us then "updated" wallpaper. We will go back

We had a nice time
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 02/09/06
We used to go to Storyland as a day trip and it was alot for our little ones. We decided to make it a two day trip since the second day admission is free if you buy your ticket after 3pm the day before. The rooms were nice, it appears it used to be a Best Western, not the classiest but definitely comfortable. They had an indoor and outdoor pool and a hot tub. We didn't eat there so I can't comment on that. But they did have a nice little playground to keep the kids occupied. We'll be going back.

Nice place for last minute planners...would probably not go again though... Not really worth it for the $$...Average rooms, older decor and bathroom fixtures. On-site resturant is not horrible, but nothing to write home about...Service was pretty slow. Close to Storyland is about the only thing going for it...
