Only If you love the lake...
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/24/07
I've been going there for years. Sure it's old, no phones, etc. The AC works, the view of the lake is killer. My boat is steps away from the door. There road runners outside if you get up early. I walk to the water's edge and watch the sun rise. It's very big for some strange reason with visitor's from Germany. You have to go out to eat but the Hacienda is 5 minutes away, and Bolder City is 10 minutes. If you like desert boating - come on down. However, I don't want to talk it up that much so it stays our little secret. If you're there for nightlife and not the lake - stay somewhere else...it's not for you. Just don't put it down!!!

I agree, STAY AWAY
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/26/06
Just returned, The place scared me! The lodge was run down and had very little security. Simple easily defeated locks on the doors without safety chains were complimented by community college dorm room styling. No phones in the rooms also highlighted the safe environment. The mold in the showers artfully meshed with the ring in the toilet. We didn't stay longer than 10 minutes before we headed for the major upgrade of Best Western! On the plus side, they refunded our money.

Wonderful Memories
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 05/25/06
We like the lodge mainly because of its proximity to the marina. We also have a sentimental attachment to the lodge as we have been staying there since the mid-70's - when it was really the only option if you were coming to Lake Mead for a boating vacation. Believe it our not, it has been updated since then, although it still has the feel of a 1950's motel.

so glad we found it!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 02/16/06
The lake/mountain views from the rooms is amazing. Location is very convienent to all kinds of sites (Hoover Dam, hiking, boating, Boulder City, even Vegas isn't too far). The staff were exceptioanlly friendly and accommodating and the price is just right. If you need lots of bells and whistles with your hotel rooms (phones, iron, hairdryer, roomservice)this is not the place for you, but if you enjoy a clean, simple, inviting and relaxing environment, this is the PERFECT place.

Small, but nice.
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/06/05
First off, that second review must be about some other place. This lodge is not anywhere near downtown. It is IN Lake Mead National Recreation Area, about .25 miles (maybe less) from a Park Ranger station; it is between the park road and Boulder Beach. It is small and nice but a bit overpriced. It should be $50 or less per night.

Stay Away!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 04/06/05
Do not let the internet fool you! This motel is more like an old run down motel 6. It is in a downtown part of area, you do not fell safe when you arrive. They say it is about 5 mins away from the strip; more like 30mins! If you are just a bunch a guys who do not care about where you stay as long as it is cheap; this is the only way this motel is for you! Stay away!

Nice Old Place
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/24/04
Built during the 1930's for the Hoover Dam workers, it is old but well-kept. Nice trees, lots of shade. Nice pool. Small rooms, but clean and working fine.
