Blue Jay Lodge, South Lake Tahoe

We booked a room last-minute on a holiday weekend, and it was great! Very clean, spacious room, sofa, nice hot shower. The manager threw in an upgrade to a "fireplace" room, which is actually a gas log in a wood stove (???), but hey, it's great for drying boots and gloves. (Note: The thermostat-looking thing next to the fireplace controls the gas log. The REAL thermostat is almost hidden by the closet door. Figured it out after we froze the first night!) One block to casinos and shopping. Try the Mexican diner, Super Tacos, at the other end of the block. It's "da bomb"! (Thank you, nice lady in housekeeping, for the info.) We will definitely stay here again!

My friend and I stayed in a room for one night, and it was great to just stay in a place for super cheep, super close to the casino's and over all, it was right up our alley. we went to Tahoe for Tahoe, not the place were we rest at night. I would go back!

The overall hotel was average. Nothing spectacular. Really liked the value and the closeness to the Casinos and nightlife though. I would definitely go again.

We stayed there on Labor Day weekend. We checked out the room, filthy. The pilllow & sheets had dog hair on it and the carpet was gross. We got the heck out of there immediately. GROSS hotel!!!

I LOVED OUR STAY AT THE BLUE JAY. I WON'T STAY ANYWHERE ELSE! it was a pretty good price and it's right around the corner from Harvey's and Harrah's which is conveinient... but if your old you might not enjoy it.

It was kind of noisy. The walls are paper thin, ajacent room noise was obvious, and the parking lot had a lot of car activity very early in the morning and late into the night. On the flip side, it was very clean and close to everything in Stateline/South Lake Tahoe.

Close, but not IN a casino. Nice, clean and oy- so convenient to Harvey's!
