We love the Planet!
By ,
We have been staying at PH since it was the Aladdin, we go 7-9 times a year. In the past two years on almost every trip we have run into film and tv stars either staying there or filming there, its a very cool place. My husband and I have been invited to all of the red carpet premiers that have been held there and my daughter nearly went out of her mind when she got to attend a couple of them and meet the stars. If you are a player at the casino they take excellent care of you, they are one of the few properties that still offer real cash back on your play. The comps are excellent. As a platinum player the suites we are offered are terrific. The mall is very convenient, and the casino is central to the strip. Music is awesome during the day. PF Changs, Yolos, amazing value for the strip and great food. Striphouse not so much. If you are not a platinum player with them however the line up for the "rewards/Players" desk is insane, because they have so many drawings, tournaments and sign up promo's. If you are a platinum player you can eliminate the line. Unlike a lot of other casinos the Planet seems to be handling the economic downturn quite well.

Improvements needed
By ,
Stayed at PH Resort and Casino 2/15-2/18 and had mixed experience. Free upgrade at check-in was a nice plus and the Hollywood Hip Room Plus was spacious and had two vanities. There wasn't nearly enough dresser space in the room though and I was extremely disappointed when I got back to the room on 2/17 at 2:00am and found we had no running water. I called the front desk and was told the problem was for scheduled maintenance. Why wasn't I informed upon checking in? The Spa had some nice amenities and the hot stone therapy massage was excellent but pricey. The showers in the men's locker room need new tiles as many had fallen off and parts of the walls were bare. The workout center was adequate and worth the $25 per day charge. Restaurants were very accomodating and the food at Yolos Mexican was great. Gambling was fine, but I thought too many tables were reserved for $25/minimum bets. The adjacent shopping center was very nice and offered a mixture of shops. Had stayed at the Rio/Harrah's/Circus Circus previously. I would still rate the Rio as the top of the group, and feel with some minor improvements PH can equal the Rio experience.

NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR THEFT
By ,
I stayed at Planet Hollywood for a week this month. Toward the end of the week, my room was broken into and my laptop computer, digital camera, and watch were stolen. I was told by Planet Hollywood that my only course was to claim the loss on MY insurance. Under Nevada law, they are not responsible for items lost by guests because they provide a safe in each room. The problem is that my laptop would not fit in the safe. It was distressing that there was NO EFFORT by Planet Hollywood to compensate me in any way for the loss of my property. I would advise guests to think about another hotel for safety reasons.

Great Hotel
By ,
We stayed in the Planet Hollywood in late October 2008. It was great! Perfect location and the price was perfect for our budget (young college students!). The Miracle Mile Shops are great. It had a variety of shops available, including several gift stores to pick up anything you might have forgotten. Only downside is that they seemed to have weird hours (not opening until 10 and closing around 8pm). The location can't be beat....getting from your room to the Strip only takes a few minutes and you are centrally located on the Strip itself (we frequently stopped back into our hotel to drop off bags or rest for a bit). The casino was nice...we actually won :) The standard games and slot machines you would expect. We mostly ate at Planet Dailies but it was expensive for the types of food and what you got. Staff was always courteous and helpful and we never saw the timeshare pushers everyone else saw (we stayed during the week, maybe that made a difference). The rooms were quite nice but I didn't come to Vegas to stay in my room. Our 16th floor room overlooked the backside of the Strip where some construction was going on but we never heard it at all so it wasn't bothersome at all. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a good bargain and something really convienent on the Strip :)

Nice place, but missing ammenities
By ,
My husband and I recently returned to Vegas for our anniversary and chose to stay at PH because it's part of the Starwood Hotels network that we are part of. It was a comfortable atmosphere, the decor was nice and the room was spacious. The bathroom was particularly nice. It was big, with a double vanity, walk in shower with bench, soaking tub and separate water closet. What was missing from the room was a refrigerator/mini bar, coffee and the Bliss toiletries that normally come with a Starwood room. We went carry-on only and I packed light--figured I could use the lotion and shower gel that was provided. No way--it was really stinky!! Smelled like chemicals. On the plus side, the Miracle Mile shops in the lobby made purchasing my own stuff really easy. There are 2 ABC stores there. There were plenty of time-share sales people in the lobby, near all of the elevators and in the casino. That was a bit irritating after a while, but we won more than we lost there and liked the casino overall. About the food, Yolo's and the Spice Market Buffet were both so-so and the buffet was definitley overpriced. However, we live in the SF Bay Area and have access to a lot of great food, so maybe we're spoiled. Maybe. Lastly, the "room upgrade" we got was to a room on the 14th floor (not so spectacular in Vegas) with a view of NY-NY and Excalibur in the distance. Closer to the room was the south hotel tower and a lot of contruction--at least 3 Vegas-sized projects. There was no noise and from many parts of the room the distant view was more prominent, but I wouldn't exactly call it an upgrade. The staff were all courteous and prompt and everything was clean. The location was perfect--very central. I would neither recommend nor deter anyone from staying at PH.

Fabulous Hotel
By ,
Planet Hollywood (formerly known as Aladdin) is a great hotel. My husband and I had gone there the the 1st week of November. We enjoyed our stay. Check-In was easy. The maximum wait time would be about 20 minutes. We were upgraded to a free complimentary Strip Suite from a Deluxe Room. We stayed on the North Side Tower on the 31st floor facing the Bellagio waterfall. Great room, great room service, nice TV's and very clean. The beds are very comfortable. We even had a pool table in our strip suite. The bathrooms are huge. The walk-in-shower was big and so was the tub. The only thing is that the housekeeping starts at 8 am and our room was usually cleaned around 10 am upon request. In Las Vegas, people go to sleep late and don't wake up early but we also need to understand that the housekeeping people have a lot of rooms to clean daily and so they need to start early. The casino is good. Spice Market Buffet was okay. The Spice Market Buffet was too expensive. I guess food overall is expensive anywhere you go in Las Vegas. Planet Dailies had good food but my husband and I found it to be expensive. The mall is nice, great atmosphere at Planet Hollywood, suitable for all ages (not just a young partying crowd). I would definitely recommend this place. Everyone is friendly. Our stay was fabulous at Planet Hollywood. The access to the strip is just about 5 minutes. That is a plus point. Other hotels like the Venetian and Caeser's takes a good 30 minutes to find your way out to the strip. Paris Hilton had visited Planet Hollywood during our stay there.

Great hotel in middle of the strip
Very good stay. I was in one of the recently renovated rooms (Waynes World 2). The entertainment center had actually not been up too long as there wasa little bit of construction dust on it. Other than that, the room was very clean. Great restrooms and very comfortable bed. I am not a big casino fan but this was a nice and clean casino. The shops attached to the hotel are a benefit also. I ate in PF Changs and it was excellent. Had the breakfast buffet one morning and wasn't overly impressed. The location to other sites on the strip is fantastic. Well worth the money I paid. Only big complaint that I had was the long check in. It took approximately 45 minutes. That is a real pain. I had actually stayed there once when it was the Alladin and it was the same story then. They have got to find a way to speed up that process. Overall, great value for the money.

Has it's up's and downs
By ,
The view was amazing (overlooking the Bellagio), and I enjoyed the Daily Planet restaurant for a quick meal, and it's in a great location on the strip. With that said, the room was filthy when we got there, the timeshare salesmen NEVER stopped, the music was ALWAYS blasting, the pool was nothing special and there's construction like crazy right across the street (which was noisy and dirty). At the end of the 4 days, we wished we had stayed somewhere else, and won't be returning.

Great hotel! Highly recommended
By ,
Aladdin (Planet Hollywood now) is an extremely nice place to stay. It is right in the center of the strip, across from the uber-luxurious Bellagio and famed Caesars Palace. Great location! A short walk from Excalibur and NY, NY and a lot of nice places to gamble and shop all around the hotel, and inside as well. The room was beautiful! The bathroom was spacious and the decor was fabulous. Get a room on the higher floor for a better view though. We had some Flintstone and Alien movie decor. Love the theme of PH! Check out the Miracle Mile shopping center. Such a great and convenient place, especially for a Las Vegas hotel. Eat the the Buffet there and Earl of Sandwich. Good quality food and decent pricing. All in all we had a great stay...no complaints! I'd definitely go back.
