Trying to fix things!
By ,
On 9/5/11, my husband booked a room for my daughter & I online. As I was reading the reviews, I was pretty nervous about staying there. I voiced my concerns to the front desk clerk when I was checking in and she was very friendly and explained they are trying to fix things that people are complaining about. Yes, I had a couple of issues (nothing to bad) that I addressed when I checked out (I spoke to the manager). He was very nice and thankful that I gave him feedback. He also explained the same thing that they are trying to fix the things that people are complaining about. Everyone has had their bad experiences and some were good. I took the chance and decided to stay there, because I didn’t think that it was as bad some people said. It’s no top notch hotel but it’s no run down hotel either. So depending on what people want and expect, everyone is different and has their own opinion. For a few hours of sleep and a decent breakfast in the morning, I have to say it wasn’t a bad experience for me; hopefully others will get the same friendly staff that I had.

We will NEVER go back!
By ,
We attended a large family reunion at the Kearney Ramada Inn Aug. 2010. The outside temp was 100 degrees and the meeting room temp was 90 degrees. They had NO AIR CONDITIONING for our meeting room full of 200 relatives! They served us burned fried chicken and charged us $17 each for the awful meal!! There was no visible management in the facility and no one owned up to the problems or made any effort to make it right with our group. We saw 3 bugs in our motel room...when I called back to complain to the "general manager" after the weekend, he told me he has 36 years of experience and a renowned chef in the kitchen!! THIS FACILITY IS A POORLY MANAGED DIVE that succeeded in ruining our family reunion!!

Dissapointed..
By ,
Every employee that I met was completely rude. They could have cared less what I had to say and just pretended I did not exist. Otherwise, the room and the food were alright..

Absolutely disgusted!

This was the worst hotel experience I have ever had in my life!!! I booked a reservation online for a 2 queen bed, microfridge, and wetbar room at a rate of $71.10 a night. When we arrived we could not check in early because they said our room wasn't cleaned yet and check in was at 4. Finally they said they had our 2 queen bed room, no fridge no anything. Funny how when we were walking around the hotel waiting every room, except 2 that were occupied, was cleaned and available so why did we have to wait? They told us that they had been having problems with internet saying false information apparently. I explained I would have never made the reservation nor waited all day had I known that. The staff was very rude and I had to argue with them to make it right. They put us into a king "suite" with the amenities we needed at the same price. The second we opened the door to the room it stunk like a wet dog and garbage. It was very dirty, dust an inch thick, sticky something all over the counter, the floor was dirty, snot was on the bathroom counters, urine around the toilet, something smeared all over the windows, garbage on the balcony, the fridge was dirty and moldy. Also the area right next to the bed was soaked with who knows what and remained wet for 3 days. When we went to the pool it was clearly dirty and rarely cleaned. I could tell because there was gum on the bottom, floating bugs, and what appeared to be toilet paper floating around as well. The entire stay the same trash was still in there which makes me question if it was even safe to swim in. The first and second night we woke up by drunk underage kids yelling and running in the halls. I had to tell them myself to be quiet since the staff didn't. Now to top it all off and make me angrier than ever, my four year old daughter found an adult magazine with nude men and women on every page! Also on the ground at the end of the bed was some sort of pill, that's right a pill lying on the ground! Thank god she was smart enough to give it to me instead of eating it thinking it was a piece of candy. Who knows what could have happened she could have been very very sick or it could have even been fatal. When I told the front desk of this they never once said sorry or apologized. I explained had she taken the pill they could have had a huge lawsuit on their hands. So they decided they would credit me $25 on my stay. That's it! By this point I was so angry I asked for the corporate address to write a letter. The manager refused to give it to me probably because he knew of the trouble they would be in. Finally my stay was completely refunded. I found the corporate address for myself online. We switched to the Roadway Inn and I was absolutely impressed with the hotel. All I have to say is thank god my child was okay! Never in a million years would I recommend the Ramada in Kearney. It is a lawsuit waiting to happen and needs a major health inspection.

I've stayed here 5 or 6 times, the rooms are great and so is the service, I just stayed on December31, and they have a new restaurant, It has some of the best food I've had since Vegas, The chef, is new from New Orleans, I'm telling you this place doesn't look like much but the food is to die for, give it a try instead of going to any other steak house you won't be disappointed

Very Pleased
By ,
I used a coupon from the visitors center just down the raod and got a room for $58. I stayed for two nights during a basketball tournament and had no problems.(I was not there for the tournament) The renovations seem to be finished and there is lounge with food and drinks. The new pool area looks nice but can be a little loud, but it's a pool so it was to be expected. For the price with the coupon well worth the stay!

Don't waste your MONEY!
By ,
They first said on their website that it was only 89.00 per night, then when we got there, it was 99.00 per night. Then they were in the middle of reconstruction and it was difficult to get to the pool. It wasn't a very pleasant stay and will never stay there again!

NEVER AGAIN!! WARNING DON'T STAY!!!!
By ,
Terrible experiencES!!! We are a local family that took our kids out for some Holiday fun. Swimming, etc!!! The "new" renovations have cut the pool area into less than half of what it used to be. There is no longer extra activities to keep the children occupied (they have taken out the putt-putt golf area and other game area. The Elephants Eye is now closer to the swimming area where people were allowed to smoke around with no good ventilation system. While not the hotels fault, unaccompanied minors were smoking and pointing lasers in peoples eyes in the pool area. When we complained, the staff seemed to be aware of the problem but took 2 hours later and several other complaints for the staff to do anything about. The next morning the maids were knocking at the door at 9:00 am to find out if we had left yet. They then returned at 10:30 am, demanding to know when we were leaving. I THOUGHT CHECK OUT WAS 11:00 AM!!! Complimentary breakfast was a joke!!! They ran out of food and rudely informed us they would not be making any more. My husband went to check us out. He witnessed an older gentleman asking the front desk for more time and they rudely informed him he could have a half hour and then would charge him. My husband complained about the service in the breakfast area and did not even recieve an "I'm sorry" from who turned out to be the manager. In which I called and complained to after my husband came back to tell me what happened and she denied that my husband said anything. She refused to apologize. I informed her that an apology goes a long way in the customer service world. She made no offer to make anything right - not that I would stay again even if they had offered a free room. As one other review stated, "they need to pay me to stay" DEFINITELY NOT WORTH THE PRICE!!!

Horrible Stay/Terrible Accomodations
By ,
This Hotel use to be my favorite place to stay in Kearney. What a terrible experience. *Room door was off the hinges. *Bathroom door would not close. *Tub did not drain - Try showering with a wife and teenage - Tub filled up to the top before my shower was over. *Room had a nasty odor. *Requested an extra pillow from Front Desk - They rudley replied that they had none. *When I went to the front desk to complain about all the above items - they did not even offer to switch rooms - I knew there were many available. Had the room reserved for 2 nights - after first night we changed Hotels - Ramada Manager (not GM) gave us 50% off. With our accomodations - they should have paid us to stay. The room reminded me of an inner city hotel where you rent the room by the hour. Worst hotel room I have ever stayed in - even after traveling to 3rd world countries. Poor Customer Service. Recommend to all: Stay accross the street at the Holiday Inn - Great Pool area for kids! Recommend to Ramada: Get tips from across the street at the Holiday Inn!

Nice pool and okay rooms.
By ,
This hotel is in the middle of everything. There are alot of food places and shops. The room was nice the beds were average comfort. We thought it would be nice to get a room with a pool side view (and it was the only two bed room left) it had a patio overlooking the pool. But we had to get up early the next morning and the pool was open until midnight and after a 10 hour drive that day we wanted to go bed early and that just wasn't possible with all the pool noise. The rooms seemed clean but they looked like they needed a little painting and they had old water stains on the ceiling. They did have a nice pool for the kids and a waterfall also a neat jungle looking tiki hut bar. The lougne was okay but it needed air conditioning it was very stuffy. Overall the hotel was okay and the kids had a blast in the pool.
