1 reviews for Village Inn at Apgar, East Glacier Park
Modest but ideally situated; Best Value in Glacier Park
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 03/17/05
We spent two nights here in August, 2004, and enjoyed it immensely. It is certainly nothing fancy, but our room (consisting of a 2-bedroom "suite"--a great feature when traveling with kids) was very clean and comfortable. The motel is situtated on the shore, and all rooms feature a large picture window facing the lake. Room access is from a long walkway along the lakeside that also doubles as a patio for each room from which one may enjoy spectacular views of the lake at sunrise and sunset. It's a great spot for children, thanks to the little beach just steps from the rooms, and the boating dock nearby, where one may rent kayaks, paddlewheels, and rowboats. We had a ball paddling around the lake. The little cafe nearby serves surprisingly good food, so long as your expectations are reasonable: very solid, traditional fare of a kind that used to be much more common in tourist destinations. The highlights were really superb broasted chicken and French Apple pie, as well as very tasty breakfasts. We hope to return here many times in the years to come.
