Yes it is dated but the staff was amazing!
By Becky, 3/12/12
The rooms were dated but you can see this from looking at the pictures on line. It was no worse that I was expceting and the water slide on the pool totally made up for the outdated TV and wallpaper in the room. Our kids LOVED the pool and water slide I also thought it was a nice added bonus that there were life guards at the pool. The room was clean newer bedding and paint on the walls so this helped. The beds were not great but it is what you would expect for the price. Overall staff was helpful and friendly, room was clean but dated, room service was good and well priced. We would stay here again.

Won't be staying here again!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/31/11
While the staff was very friendly and accommodating, this motel needs some serious upgrades. The mattresses are very old and as hard as boards. We had to request extra pillows to sleep on. Over-rated and over-priced.

Mediocre Food and Old Rooms
By LaVonne, 7/6/11
We have had two poor experiences with this hotel: 1. About four years ago, we decided to stay overnight because we needed to catch an early flight, although we only live 25 miles away. What a mistake! The first mistake was eating in their restaurant. They really bragged up the prime rib, but it was tough and tasteless, and the sides were nothing to write home about. The room was exactly what people who wrote before me said. It was old and not very clean, but the best part was that it was supposed to be non-smoking. There were young people running up and down the halls, making all kinds of noise at 1:00 A.M., and smoking right outside our door! We called the front desk----they got these people to leave for a while, then they came back and continued doing what they had been doing. When we called the front desk again, they said that they would take care of it, but never did anything this time. To top it all off, the next morning when we had to catch our early flight, we almost didn't get there in time because their one-of-two vans wouldn't start. Some idiot employee had left the radio on all night and killed the battery. The other van wasn't there at first, but finally came back. We just barely made it in time to check in, because, of course, one can't just show up a few minutes before flight time anymore----one has to be there early. 2. Here we are four years later, and thought we would give them another chance. We decided to try their Mother's Day Lunch Buffet. It had a Hawaiian theme, which was a joke because we are from Hawaii, and it certainly didn't offer the good food from the Islands. As I said, we now live not too far from Butte. There were three decent things on the entire buffet----the salad wasn't bad, the mashed potatoes were good, and the ham with pineapple was decent. The rest of it was lousy. The mahimahi was disgusting and what I guess was supposed to be teriyaki beef was so tough one couldn't chew it. The desserts were too sweet and gummy----really mediocre. We didn't complain that day because we just wanted to get through the meal, and had also received some distressing personal news. However, when we did complain within the next few weeks, the hotel ignored us after three attempts on our part to discuss the buffet, and to acknowledge our concerns. One positive note is that the staff was very nice and accommodating. Everyone who met me, from the dining room manager to the water person, wished me a sincere Happy Mother's Day. However, if you are looking for decent food, and for a place to stay, I would steer away from this place. Try the Uptown Cafe on Broadway Street in Butte. They have very good food. Enjoy Butte----it is an amazing place!!

new place, different from previous owners!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 3/14/11
I had heard some great things about the copperking, and decided to give it a try since it has undergone new ownership...some locals had suggested it, and we had a great time there! We asked early about the slide and hot tubs... everything worked as promised... the rates were unbeatable and we were extremely satisfied! Great food for the kids, awesome band at nights and excellent front desk service... all we had to do was ring them and ask for what we wanted... they would bring it with no questions asked or extra charges.

WILL NEVER RETURN
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 2/27/11
The rooms looked very dated, and the smell of air freshener was overpowering. We were told we would have a fridge and microwave, and also dvd, vcr. We had none of this, just a VERY OLD tv. It took 10 minutes to the the water hot for the shower, but by then I may as well have taken a bath, because the water did not drain out of the tub. The beds were terribly uncomfortable. The value for the money paid was unacceptable. We would have rather stayed at a fleabag motel and paid 50 bucks, than to pay nearly a hundred for the same level of cleanliness. Also, when we went to breakfast, it was not a regular menu. Everyone around us was offered juice, and we were only offered water or coffee. We managed to flag down a waitress, who, while not too happy about it, got us some juice to go with our breakfast.

Friendly Staff
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 7/26/10
Clean room. Great complimentary breakfast. All staff was so friendly. The TV was old but wasn't in room that much. The price was too high. The flowers outside needed watering badly. When lots of money is spent on flowers, someone should be watering them. I was happy to get a room that night.

The pool never worked and the rooms were not cleaned !!! not to mention the beds were old and the televisions were something out the 70's !!! If you are looking for a nice place that is clean , up to date and worth your money go to the Holiday Inn or the Vest Western !!!!!!!

Don't use this hotel!!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 7/8/10
Overpriced for what you get, I reverved an executive suite and recieved the Honeymoon suite with a huge red bathtub in the middle of the room. There were plaster chips coming off the walls and the bed was so old it sagged in the middle. The towels are sandpaper (if you get them). I returned to the room at 10pm after being gone all day and found that the maid had never been in the room. I complained to management and they brought me towels, I had to ask them to remove the old towels which they were going to leave. The shower drained very slowly and the toliet kept running which we complained about and were told would be repaired. They actually fixed the toliet bit the drain is still clogged. Butte is a great place to spend the 4th of July but book early and NOT at the Copper Clog King Hotel.
