Sheraton Kansas City Hotel at Crown Center, Kansas City

Likes: Link to shops and food, conceirge services, location Dislikes: NO AMMENITIES! I have never been to any hotel that didn't have a coffee machine in your room. Halfway through our week long stay we were informed by another guest that you must go to the 36th floor for free coffee. No free wi-fi unless you go to the mezzanine level. I assumed that now-a-days, these simple things would be free. Our room was decent with a spectacular view but I was surprised at how "cheap" the hotel was. Cheap, old TV, cheap bedding, cheap "free" soaps and shampoo. The bathroom sink was dirty with old crusty toothpaste, the toilet barely flushed one square of the extremely cheap sandpaper toilet paper, the security door to our room never worked right. We had to repeatedly slide our card in and out and quickly jiggle the door handle up and down in order to get in. Turns out, half the guests on the floor had the same problem. I feel like a hotel of this size, that charges so much should be providing a little more. I can't believe how dated, and chintzy it all was. So disappointing. I guess if people want to pay strictly for location, this is a good place but if you want to actually feel pampered, this isn't it.

My wife and where visiting family and decided to leave early and spend a night in KC. I got the room last minute and got a pretty good deal considering there was a skills USA convention going on. It was real busy but walked right up and check in only slow part was getting a elevator. The room was great on the 20th floor even though we where right next to the elevator. There was a thunder storm and got a good view from the hall window. The prices in the hotel are not cheep but if you take the link over to Crown Center and eat for a decent price. Over all it was a wonderful stay and would stay there again.

The place was very nice but the price and the prices of things there were ridiculous. We had to also pay for parking in their parking lot $13.50 which was not told to us until we were leaving at the gate. I think they should at least tell the customers they will be charged for parking in their lot.

The hotel all in all was quite nice. I fel we could have found a hotel just as nice for less money. The resturants offered was very expensive and I would hate to use room service. This hotel is not for the average working person, but for a real treat go for it. I have never in my life slept in a more comfortable bed. So soft,so nice, so clean. Mmmmmmmmmmmmm

We recently stayed two days at the Hyatt Regency while vacationing in Kansas City. The hotel was in a great location, central to a lot of attractions. It was only a short drive to Kaufman Stadium (home of the Royals) and Arrowhead Stadium (home of the Chiefs). Other attractions in the immediate area of the hotel are Union Station and the WW1 memorial. Service at the hotel was very good. The concierge lounge was nice and the attendee was very friendly and helpful. I recommend the valet parking. It costs $13.50 per day but is well worth it since parking is limited. The view from the 39th floor was fantastic. The hotel as a whole was starting to show it's age but was still well maintained. One nice perk was the clock radio that accepted an IPod or other types of MP3 players. All in all a nice place to stay.

Everything was great from the time we walked in the door to the time we left. The staff was very friendly and helpful, they are more than happy to help you find your way anywhere. Also dining at The Skies was amazing...so romantic!! The room was always clean and when we came back tired from the long day the bed was made and there was clean towels in the bathroom. Totally recommend it.

The rooms were nothing special - especially for the price. The hotel did have some nice features - the resturaunts were nice, prices not too bad and a helpful staff. Overall, if travelling to KC again, I would try somewhere else.

Very classy and clean. Beds were wonderful, quiet and peaceful. Great place to have business meetings or party events. Only downfall is shopping mall isn't very spectacular.

My girlfreind and I stayed there for a wedding. Depsite the fact that we are low income college students we were treated like royalty. She stayed there in a diffrent room with her freinds a night before I arrived and her only complaint was in that room the AC unit was a little loud. When I arrived I was given a gorgeous room with the most breath takeing view of the Kansas City Skyline I have ever had (kinda like the view Frasier Krane had in his Seattle penthouse LOL). The room itslef was spotless and I loved the marble floor bathrooms. My biggest complaint is that I didnt arrive a day earlier. I have never had better service.

I have wanted to stay at this hotel since I was a small child visiting Crown Center during the holidays, so I took my elderly mother and son this past weekend. Little things like no coffee pots in the rooms and the toiletries not being replaced daily (there were three of us using the bath, sometimes multiple times a day after swimming) and being near noisy elevators took away from the experience. As my mother is handicapped, I am disappointed that the parking (even the handicapped spots) is such a far distance from the lobby, as well as the length of the distance to the Crown Center shops. Thought I would just mention it, as it is quite a trek for pushing a wheelchair.
