Days Inn Duluth, Duluth

I am surprised at all the negative reviews. My husband and I stayed here for our anniversary, because Duluth is out favorite place to go! This place is a wonderful place to stay! The management staff was wonderful to both me and my husband. The rooms are a little small, but VERY clean and neat! The continental breakfast was great also!The only thing that I found out when we stayed there was, it is about a 5-7 minute trip to downtown Duluth, but for the price of the hotel that isn't that bad! This place is really a wonderful place, and the management and staff will take good care of you! We will definatly be back this year for our anniversary! :)

Upper room was very small with only 12" between the bed and the TV stand, halls smelled like 30 years of smoke, hot tub was scummy and beware the safe fee. $1.62 safe fee is non-refundable after check-out. Most companies will not reimburse for this either. Called about the fee and they would rather lose a customer than refund $11.34 for 7 nights. Oh well, the Country Inn isn't that much more and is much nicer anyways.

Was a little surprised by the negative reviews.... Yes the rooms are a little small but do you really do anything but sleep there? The lady at the front desk when we checked in was absolutely delightful (didn't catch her name) As for the noise levels anywhere you stay there is activity and noise unless your in the top floor penthouse. The price was right, the service was great and the location is fabulous!!!! As for a hard bed??? Hmm I didn't notice since I slept like a baby.... Don't let ONE BAD EGG of customer service ruin your stay.... Some people are just naturally rude and unfriendly.... Look at them and feel sadness that they just don't get it and belong in a cubicle by themselves working.... It takes all kinds to make the world go around..... Let the happy and positive of your experience out-weigh the negative.... Give it another try you might like it :) Heading back to stay again today....

It was a clean and quiet motel with friendly visitors and staff. The free breakfast was good - continental style. Coffee cups could be bigger. Whirlpool that was pretty big and there was a cute gym with a treadmill and bike and a TV. Cable TV! Ice machine worked. Housekeeping was good. They didn't come knocking on your door or opening it when you were still sleeping or in the shower. Free Wireless internet in rooms and there was a free computer to use in the lobby area. Customer service was good. The location was okay - next to the Mall with plenty of good restaurants and a movie theater in walking distance. You can call for a shuttle to pick you up to go to the local casinos; and ultimately bring you back home. They had a public bus that ran 7 days per week. The down side: No swimming pool. The rooms that were very tiny. There were two of us and we couldn't walk without bumping into each other. At check-out the taxes per night per the room price were $20 extra. Wow. What a shock. The room cost was $149 and so we ended paying about $170 for a very small room in a location that is NOT downtown Duluth. If the price were about $50 cheaper I would give it 4 stars.

Hotel is recently updated. Rooms are on the small side, but looked good and were clean. Staff were very accomodating and called my room in the evening to see if I needed anything. No pool, but there is a hot tub near the front desk. Pet Friendly.

The room was fine, the price right but the customer service was HORRIBLE! I found a particularly nasty piece of garbage in my room and brought it down to the front desk to show them. The manager proceeded to call me on the phone in my room and accuse me of lying. He was very rude and disrespectful and he offered no solutions to the problem. I will never stay at this hotel again.

This hotel is located across the street from the mall so it's very convenient if you plan on shopping. The rooms are clean, tidy, and quite basic, but most include an iron and ironing board which is a nice touch as far as I am concerned. In addition, they will accept pets here and that is a must for me.

We came to shop, and shop we did...this hotel is right across the street from Miller Hill Mall. A slight drive to sights at the harbour, but not a huge deal. Yes, the beds were a little hard, and the pillows were a little soft...we both needed another one. The heat in the room was cranked right up, we slept with the window open (in January). If you were planning to 'sleep-in' somewhat, this is not the place to do it. I was awoken each morning by the sounds of children laughing, people showering, noses being blown, flushing toilets, slamming doors, etc...etc... Just a little warning. I have no other complaints. Because the price was so good, I would probably stay here again, but next time I'm bringing earplugs.

Management, staff, and room--All were welcoming. My dog stayed with me and I got adjoining rooms for my family.

The staff was super nice and the room was clean. The bathroom was really tiny and the beds were kind of hard. Not sure if queen beds really were queen size, seemed kind of small. Price was right for the night so can't complain too much. This hotel is out by the mall and is a long ways from the harbor. Like at least five miles. So if you want to do a lot of driving to get to the sites this wouldn't be the place to stay.
