This motel is clean and comfortable and very central to all tourist establishments and restaurants, gas stations, etc. in the Brainerd/Baxter area. However, don't expect much in the way of service from their staff while you're there because this is where this establishment loses major points. There were 3 people in our group and our room had two double beds. Upon checking in we asked to be supplied with 3 sets of towels and wash cloths every day. Every single evening we were there it was the same routine; we returned from the day's activities to find only 2 sets of towels and washcloths in our room and we had to walk down to the front desk and ask for one more set. Two out of the four days we were there they ran out of both towels and wash cloths and had nothing they could give us at all! The first morning we discovered the sink drain plug linkage was broken and, therefore, the sink would not hold water. On our way out that morning we asked to have it repaired and were told it would be repaired by the time we returned later that evening. When we returned the linkage was not fixed. The desk clerk told us that it was the repairman's day off and that it would be repaired tomorrow. The desk clerks managed to come up with a different excuse every day, but the bottom line was that when we checked out of the motel 4 days later it still wasn't fixed. Also, if you're thinking of staying there during the weekend of the NHRA national drag races at Brainerd International Raceway (second weekend in August) be forewarned that this motel jacks up its rates to over $142.00 per night...... and they definately do not try to offset the huge price increase by attempting to provide exceptional service. If service is not important to you then you'll be satisfied with the accomodations, but if it is then look else where.

I'll be back
By Swisha, 03/28/06
So I stopped in Brainerd instead of driving all the way home. I found this place to be pleasent. I didn't like the idea of paying $60 for a one bed room so she offered to drop it to $50. Basically this place is "Average." You might expect somethings to be a 'lil wrong but it's better than the other options in Brainerd.

trashy

i stayed at this hotel in feb. of 2006. the room was supposed to be a non-smoking but for some reason it reeked like cigarettes. the staff was completely retarded to say the least. their breakfast consisted of moldy bagels, half stale bread, and cereal in containers that looked like they hadn't been washed since 1986. i wouldn't recommend this dive to my worst enemy.

Filthy and Flea Ridden

This place was horribly dirty. The manager Wendy I believe her name was was extremely incompetent. I could have gotten better service from a dog I saw running around the halls. Our room was small and the blankets on our bed had multiple yellow stains. Our towels look used and their so called "continental breakfast" consisted of cereal, stale bread, and moldy bagels. Whoever's running this rathole needs to clean house regarding both the staff and hotel rooms

Felt Like Home
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 09/15/05
I Stayed at the Brainerd Lakes Inn for a few months and would recommend it to anyone. The staff was very helpful in many aspects to the point where they almost felt like good friends that we had known for years. Room was good priced for an extended stay and if I had to stay at another hotel in the Brainerd/Baxter area I would most definately stay at the Brainerd Lakes Inn again.

Don't go
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/29/05
We were forced to stay here July 22/23, 2005 to attend a wedding in the area. Our first room was so filthy we had to move. The 2nd room was not any better with stained bedding and dirty showers. I am in the process of requesting a full refund since we could not contact any management during our stay.

By A Yahoo! Contributor, 04/13/05
The rooms were dirty when asked to speak with a manager was told he was not in.. yet found out the next morning that the person on duty the night before was the manager. So another words the manager lied to us saying he wasnt in because he did not want to deal with the problem.. I have never experieced this before just creepy.

Great
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/31/04
I found our stay at the Brainerd lakes Inn very enjoyable. The front desk staff was extremley friendly. They had a variety of food for breakfast. our room was clean and larger than the average hotel room that we have stayed at in the past.

Brainerd Lakes Inn
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/20/04
The hotel did not meet any of our expectations. They did not have the rooms we originally reserved when we got there. They charged us the incorrect amount for the room (we are still working on getting credit back to us 30 days later). We woke up to a combination of smells in the hallway of cigarette smoke, burnt toast, and vomit. The continental breakfast consisted of food that looked like it had been on the counter for a week. Needless to say my entire family was not impressed with any aspect of the hotel. My suggestion is to pay more for a better hotel
