Beware!!!! Bugs in the bed

Three star rating is highly over rated for this location. About the only good thing I could say for the place was the front desk staff. I had booked through Expedia based on 3-star rating and general reputation of Crowne Plaza hotels. However, the hotel is older and despite a decent lobby, my room was shabby. I wanted to check out that night and asked front desk to cancel my reservation. The clerk was new and said he didn't know policy and would have to wait until the next morning to check. Since I had arrived just after midnight, I figured I would stay the night and see about arrangements in the morning. In the morning, I felt something crawling up my leg. When I checked, there was a small black bug in bed with me. I captured the bug in a leftover food container so I could show the front desk. At the front desk, I told them I wanted to check out and for them to cancel my Expedia deal. I told them I would be happy to pay for the one night's stay - even at their regular rate and not the Expedia rate. But that I was going to check out because I found the accommodations unacceptable, and didn't want to get charged for the balance of six nights that I was not staying there. The clerk said General Manager does not authorize anyone to make arrangements like that; only he can authorize. she gave me his number. I called and left a message that I was checking out, and was willing to pay for the night's stay, but would not be happy to pay for seven nights. I never heard back, and of course they did not credit the trip with Expedia.
