Reservation Not Honored
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 12/16/11
Made reservation early due to a scheduled surgery at the nearby Fairview Hospital. I was quoted the rate they advertize for Hospital patients. When checking in they would not honor the rate: the reasons - they were too full and all the "patient" rooms were taken. If you book make sure you get an email or text with your confirmation and room rate quoted. For the price the rooms are not anything special.

? What?
By Joesfiance21, 5/16/08
First of all when my dad booked thid hotel online it said "Radisson Metrodome" ha it is nowhere near the metrodome. They gave us the wrong directions to the hotel in the first place and second the metrodome is half way across town.It should have been called the Radisson Williams arena or something. I also didnt like the shuttle service. I wouldnt recommend this hotel to the people who go for twins and vikngs games it is frusterating.

Charged
By Derek, 2/21/08
Decent stay, but one night they called me at 1:30am and said I had to come downstairs and re-check into my room. After getting dressed and going downstairs they told me all I needed to do was re-scan my card and I'd be fine. I asked them, "Don't you think I could have done this in the morning when I woke up, as I'm staying here for two more days?" ....Ridiculous to wake me up at 1:30 for something that coudld be done later. Then, while checking out and reading of this experience on their computer, the manager said that they would comp one night for free. So instead of paying for 3 nights, I'd expect to only pay for 2...right?...Wrong! 3 Nights showed up on my creditcard. So...I phoned them and told them of this and they promptly told me that they had this information on their computer and they would reverse the charge immediately. It has been almost 3 months now and the charge still hasn't been reversed. Sheesh. I'm not even picky, I've worked in the service industry and really would never bring up something unless it was REALLY bad, but if they offer to comp a night for me, they should honor their word.

GOOD SERVICE BAD LOCATION
By bentnotes, 9/24/07
Good news first..the hotel staff was very helpful, the rooms were clean (could use a bit of updating) and maintenance of the rooms excellent. Fitness facility was good. My only complains were the 9.50 a day parking and $10.00 a day charge for a small fridge. I have stayed in many similar hotels who did not charge for either. Bad news..LOCATION..I found it was 45 minute fastn paced walk to downtown. Also, the university was full of teenage athletic teams running up and down halls screeching all night. To no fault of the hotel, an outside strike brought screaming chanting picket lines to my window. If you want a quiet relaxing place, this is NOT it. But if you want to be in the heart of the University and are not bothered by noise, the hotel is quite acceptable.

Don't Even Bother
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 7/8/06
When we arrived after a 10 hour drive from Southern Ontario, we were told the hotel was completely full, despite our having a reservation. After some pressing, I got the front desk clerk to admit that they oversold, a practice THEY say is common in the industry. First of all, we arrived at 8:00 PM, so it wasn't like it was the middle of the night. Secondly, I travel a lot, and this has NEVER happened to me. So they tell us the for our first night, they had made their own reservation for us to stay at the Ramada Inn BY THE BUS STATION! When our cab pulled up to this dump, there were vagrants and shady looking characters loitering out front - not exactly a family-friendly area. The next morning, the Radisson's shuttle was scheduled to pick us up at 10:00AM to bring us back to their hotel for the duration of our stay. Not only was the driver 20 minutes late, he appeared to be severely hungover, and mumbled everything he said. He was extremely irritable, and loudly swore when he missed a turn and had to circle around. Management was no help remedying the situation. When asked why we were sent to the Ramada in skid row when we had reservations, the manager told me that they put guests up in a comparable hotel for the night. No Ramada is "comparable" to a Radisson, let alone one that is next to a homeless shelter. And my company paid for my lodging, so the fact that Radisson paid for that horrid night was no help to me. Don't bother staying here. You can find better deals a little farther off-campus, and usually shuttle drivers of any nearby, off-campus hotel will transport you to campus.

Got a reservation? Don't count on it!
By greg, 10/3/05
This hotel was very overpriced for what you get. While the lobby looks nice, the rooms could definitely use a little work. I've stayed at Motel 6's with nicer rooms. I reserved a smoking room with a king size bed. They gave me a non-smoking room with 2 double beds.. Even though I had a copy of my reservation which clearly stated my reserved room type, I was told that they cannot guarantee room types. They have some satisfaction guarantee, but don't count on them honoring that either. I would definitely recommend staying elsewhere.

Good location and value

Great location, minutes away from good restaurants and the metrodome. Close to the U of MN. Safe neighbourhood. Comfortable beds, clean rooms, nice bathroom.
