Holiday Inn Detroit Lakes, Detroit Lakes

The bed was very uncomfortable. I set my wake up call for 5am and it rang at 445am. The shower had hair in it from the people before. I requested a smoking room and that was 3rd floor, the whole floor was nasty. I will never stay in a smoking room ever again even though I smoke. When I took a shower in the morning, the smoke detector went off from the steam that came out of the bathroom. I thought I was going to wake up the whole floor. When I called the front desk to get help NO one answered. 5 minutes later the smoke detector shut off thankfully! I was also put in a room above the pool and I could hear all of the kids screaming below. Very annoying when you have just driven 14 hours.

Spending time there during the summer months there are so many things to do. Not only at the hotel but nearby. The kids really enjoyed the beach and what is offered by the hotel but we also enjoy the room and service. I would recommend this location for anyone that just wants to get away.

This place is awful expecially the staff and the general manager, Sam. They are very unpleasant & rude to customers and obviously don't know how to run a business establishment. Please, if you are thinking of staying in Detroit Lakes, MN choose a different hotel such as AmericINN or Country Inn & Suites, you will be much happier there!
