If only it was clean

I grew up in Northfield, so I've long appreciated the renovation done on the Archer House by Dallas Haas in the mid 1980s. I stayed at the hotel the night of my wedding with my first wife, and again recently with my second wife. The Archer House has a tremendous amount of detail built into it -- both historical and new. Unfortunately, the three housekeepers who clean the rooms do not have the time or ability to actually clean any of it. The sheets and towels seem fine, but the carpets in the rooms and hallways are dusty. The overhead lights in the elevator are full of bugs and grime, and the hallways are filled with old furniture dating back to the mid-80s redo. It's common to have to duck around the huge garbage bags the maids leave in the hall. And to top it off, the bar and lounge in the hotel is just plain nasty -- it's filled with dirtbag townie drunks, is staffed by barkeeps best suited for a beer garden, and it offers a huge, communal bowl of Chex-Mix to patrons that is likely a vector for all the disease in the northern hemisphere. So, to the current owners, here's my advice: Hire more housekeepers, throw out anything you're not using anymore, send the townies and your barkeeps to the L&M Bar, and for god's sake, renovate the fourth floor. Dallas should have done it 30 years ago. And as for the the ever-filthy and worn boardwalk, I have three words: Concrete and pressure washer.
