Hotel St Regis Detroit, Detroit

I gotta say this hotel really was great! P.S. if you use SweetHotelDeals. Net for booking this hotel they usually have some pretty good hotel deals at this time of the year!

WiFi sucks, water heat is on and off, bar is not open, restaurant only open at lunch, my room was 85 degrees and the ac would not work, no ice bucket. Room was clean but traffic was loud and it sounded like there was a water leak somewhere...almost kept me up all night. Friendly staff but not much to do in the local area. Not worth the price at all

I stayed at this hotel after the Kid rock concert and the next morning my vehicle had been broken into. Not secure parking. Hotel did not pay for the damages. Not recommended!!

Not a good hotel at all and I would not recommend staying here. There was no complientary bus service as advertised. i paid 89.99 and it was not worth it AT ALL. There were no coffee cups for coffee, there are no vending machines, no guest directory, staff were unprofessional and not friendly. The TV didn't even switch off with the remote control. bed also uncomfortable. and the area has nothing around. the doors keep banging all night - good luck getting to sleep with that.

When we arrived we had to park on the street b/c a car had stalled in front of the door and the hotel had no clue who's car it was. While registering for our room we were informed the shuttle driver called in and there was no shuttle bus available (I was surprised there were no accomadations for a ride). The resturant was closed without further notice. I'm afraid of elevators, asked for the stairs and we were taken thru the janator's closet (which was filthy dirty) to our floor. The door did not close completely, we were told to use our dead bolt lock and it would be okay. The air didn't work and we had no hot water our entire stay (which turned out to be one night). I have never been to an establishment that was so dirty and unprofessional in my life. There were people standing outside of the hotel at all times. Please take these reviews seriously and consider staying some where else. The one positive thing I can say about this stay was "CHECK OUT TIME".

I purchased one lunch and a week later multiple unauthorized charges was made on my credit card. I contacted management several times to be reimbursed. I was told the Hotel experienced a computer virus and i ws not the only customer who experienced this. Management made false promises and never reimbursed me. They never returned my calls and never tried to make things right. I reported the Hotel to the BBB.

My experience at this hotel was horrific. No one had customer servic skills from the front desk to the valet. The hotel is nice looking from the outside but inside is another story. The police was downstairs when we entered the hotel because of a disturbance. Checked into the room stains on the comforter, the ceiling was cracked in the hallway ( a law suit waiting to happen). I went to look for ice on my floor only to find out you have to go all the way to the bar to get a but of ice. I have never been in a hotel that there wasn't an ice maching on your floor/vending machine. Other patrons that stayed at the hotel slammed the doors all night long, they did not have any respect or consideration for others. I would not recommend this place to anybody. The price was cheap but you pay for nothing you get nothing. Avoid the Hotel St. Regis and pay the extra money for an enjoyable Detroit experience.

I stayed at the hotel while I was training across the street at Cadillac Place. When I first arrived I had the valet park my car and I checked in my luggage. The morning staff at the front desk and valet was extremely helpful. I checked into my room in the afternoon after training. The afternoon staff acted like I was bothering them. When I checked into my room I noticed that one of the outlets was pulled out of the wall onto the floor! I called the front desk and she said that they were do some rewiring in some of the rooms. She would send a staff member to my room. However, no one came. What a major fire concern! I was awaken at 4:00a.m. to people running up and down the hallway drunk! They were screaming and being obnoxious. I called the front desk and they lady said they would send someone up to take care of the matter. But after 45 minutes it took another guest to yell at them and practically get into fight before they went back to their room. In the morning beer bottles were all over the hallway. A friend of mine who was staying at the hotel for training as well complained that her t.v. and d.v.d player did not work. She had to wait a day and called five times before she could get it taken care of. There is no close restaurants in the area at all! So we ate at the hotel restaurant, it was WAY overpriced and not good! It was a bad experience I would not recommend this hotel to anyone.

My organization recomended this hotel (although no one in my office had stayed in it) for a training I was taking across the street at the Cadillac Place. Due to an accident on the highway we arrived around 11pm so we decided we would check it out, stay there for that night and if it was too bad, we would look for another place the next day. The cleanliness of the room was better than expected but not upscale or great. But is was tolerable. However, our air did not work and it was 80 degrees in the room at night. There were no glasses in the room, no vending or ice machines in the whole building and they never valet parked our car even though they charged us for it at $14 per night. The smoke detector had toilet paper shoved in it, not sure why. The area is a very bad! There is nothing to do or places to eat as everything closes at 6pm and let me tell you, there is a reason for that!!! We seen a homless person sleeping on the hotels steps and you really can not walk around anywhere with out being harrassed. The people at the hotel were friendly but not at all helpful! There was one exception, the evening valet, Peter. He was very helpful! He was not there when we checked in and no one told him our car was supposed to be parked. He came to bat for us over the charges on the parking, it didnt do any good, but he tried! He went out of his way to help everyone as they arrived at the hotel, including getting us ice for our room which I am sure was not in his job description! Me and several other training attendees who stayed there did in fact hear gun shots a few blocks down from the hotel on the last night of our stay. I really would not recomend staying there, but if you have to, bring a couple dollars tip to componsate Peter he will probably be the ony one who will assist you.

For the most part i really enjoyed my stay there the bed were "comfy" the only thin tht i did not like was i had to call to have the com clean up room !!! but the RITA is the sweetest thing!!!
