Doherty Hotel, Clare

It was the best to choose from in a town of nothing. Days Inn ...Nasty. Econolodge...brokedown....no other option. nice pool!

Stayed in JFK suite for honeymoon. Jacuzzi was falling apart, had cigarette burns in the bottom, and took 20 minutes to get to work. Romantic package was a scam! Bottle of champagne was warm, the size of a 20 oz pop, and the refrigerator froze a bottle of wine that was a wedding present. The tv was 19" and very old, the DVD player was not there in its place was a VHS player. The voucher can only be used for food which is highly overpriced and not very good. No beverages on the voucher. The lounge is not open until after checkout, so the bloody mary's are useless. The "full" breakfast is a continental breakfast. If you want the breakfast from the menu, you pay the full price. The staff was rude to our family and did not appreciate the business. There was no advance warning that an additional 35% hold is placed on a debit/checking card for 10 days when used. I would not recommend this run-down place for anyone!! It was highly overpriced and 2 miles down the road you can stay at a very nice, clean, updated, in "working" condition hotel for less money. You are paying for ambiance that isn't even there.

The customer service in this place was outstanding. I thought that the hotel itself could have offered a few more amenities due to the price. However the service in and of itself was well worth what I paid. There was a dishwasher named Jeremy who really provided us with a wonderful experience. He surely went that extra mile to please the guest and it wasnt even his job to do. Thank a lot Doherty hotel and Jeremy.

I LOVED the service! My husband and I were wandering around the hotel and somehow got turned around. We ran into one of the kitchen staff and he directed us back to our room. He was polite and helpful, I think that he said his name was Kacy or something like that. We had a wonderful time and really enjoyed the city!

The location is great for shopping down town. Everybody was so nice there!!! And I love the old hotel with so much history!!!! I stay there two times a year and love it every time...

My experience was thrilling and bone-chilling. I think we had a ghost in our hallway or bedroom because we heard people talking but when we got up no one was out in the hallway. My children woke up and were petrified from the noises they were hearing.

Stayed a night with 4 other families and had a great time. Food was great and they delivered it to us by the pool. They are so accomodating that it is our favorite hotel to get a group together and relax. Kids swam and the adults played cards next to the pool. Will be back again soon!

Went for a pool party with my niece and nephew and another couple. Had a great time! The staff is outstanding and so is the food. Great value with the shopping extravaganza package. Will be going again this winter. P.S. The lady who found the suprise should lighten up, I'm sure the person at the front dest was just as suprised as her.
