Better options elsewhere
By ,
The lobby was nice, but the hotel is old. The ceilings are really low in the halls. The age shows, the hotel is in need of a renovation bad. The wallpaper was starting to peel, and there were gaps around the vents that made it look shoddy. Also it took about 15 minutes (no joke) to get hot water out of the shower. I actually called the front desk and they sent maintenance up. The guy just let the shower run longer. The pool was nice, but the ceiling tiles had water stains that suggested a leak, In the morning I could see the pool roof from our room and it was obvious there were problems there. There was sagging between each truss and it looked like a series of waves. The executive lounge was nice. The breakfast there was typical continental, the same that you would find at a cheaper hotel for free. Grahams, the restaurant attached, has always been good. Not great, but consistent over the 5 or 6 times I have been there over 3 years.

I was here for a conference and loved this hotel! The details are beautiful and the staff was fantastic. I will be staying here if business brings me back to Ann Arbor.

Great to my group!
By ,
I am from Ann Arbor but had a group of colleagues (10 rooms) stay at the Kensington while in town. Not one of them had a complaint. I called the night my guests were checking in and asked if they could give a message to all of my guests checking in ... the friendly girl at the desk not only said that would be no problem, but also offered to deliver a letter under the door of all the guests who had already checked in. The staff really goes above and beyond and the hotel is beautiful.

Great Banquets!
By ,
My company had a week long event at the Kensington Court in their onf of their ballrooms. The whole expereience was great. The sales rep was very efficient and flexible with all of our last minuite changes. We had some of the same servers all week and they were very friendly and accomidating. We ended up having more guests than expected and when I let the staff know they went ahead and adjusted all of the seating and numbers right away. We are already planning to come back for our next event.

Not worth the stay
By ,
I was told at check in by a very rude manager that they would not be able to honor the price they quoted me when I called and booked the reservation. I should have left then, but was not too familiar with the area. I was given a room on the executive level that included a complimentary happy hour from 5-7pm with wine and snacks. There was nothing! I called down a few times and was told that they were too busy with a wedding party that evening. I guess they were also too busy to do room cleaning service...no fresh towels, they didn't empty trash cans, they didn't make the beds...at least not until 8:30 in the evening! Breakfast room service was terrible and over priced! $15.00 for rubbery eggs and soggy toast. Pool area was dirty...towels were dirty in the pool area. Restaurant was lousy. No concierge service and no one at the desk could give directions or maps. I would highly discourage staying here. There were several of us in the group for this trip that had similar experiences.

A disappointing experience!!!
By ,
The desk manager was cold and uncaring when I expressed my concerns. I was charged a different rate on check out than I was quoted upon check in. The TV cable did not work. They charged me $20.00 more for an "executive room" compared to a standard room for a "free breakfast" to be included. What a disappointment!!!. This "breakfast wasn't worth more than $3.00, if that!!!--old, dried-out bagels from a package, coffee and juice--what a joke, hardly $20.00 worth!! The worst part was the rudeness of the front desk manager, who offered no apology or attempt to correct the situation. Needless to say, we shall never return and will certainly tell everyone we know about our experience at Kensington Court.

Fabulous Service
By ,
We had our daughter's wedding and reception at the Kensington and we were delighted with absolutely everything. Most of those invited were from out of town and they received excellent service. We had an unusual reception which was a dinner theater atmosphere and Kensington did everything possible to make it a success. They were extremely accomodating to all of our vendors. Sit up was flswless, the meal was really wonderful. The setting was like a home away from home. The wedding was covered by the Ann Arbor News as an unusual reception and Kensington was accomodating to the newspaper as well. Why would anyone living in Ann Arbor have a reception anywhere else? Thank you Kensington!

BLISS SHOW & KENSINGON COURT
By ,
I too attended the bridal show at the Kensington Court and I thought the food in their dispay was horrible! It was cold, gelled and overall gross. The bridal show was a smaller show compared to the one I went to at the Palace but it was more resonable and not so overwhelmeing. You could actually talk to the businesses without being pushed and shoved. I liked the fashion show personally, the skits was nice and the models were funny. I thought the staff at Kensington Court sucked and they were rude when I asked where the bridal show was.. Needless to say, I didn't even consider them for my wedding and wouldn't even recommend the hotel to an enemy!!

Great visit, great location
By ,
Very nice place to stay. Rooms are very clean as is hotel. Very nice pool area. The staff was very accommodating; brought us extra pillows & blankets upon arrival. There is only morning coffee, no continental breakfast which was somewhat disappointing.
