Excellent Place to Stay in Boston, MA
By Icygirl101, 12/7/11
The hotel is quite nice. It is centrally located with a subway stop just steps from the front door, and if you want a cab there is a taxi stand right there. The staff were excellent. All of the staff was very friendly, very helpful and kind. The rooms were clean and well kept. If we needed anything, they were quick to provide it or tell us where we could locate that good or service. The restaurant was nice with quite good food for a reasonable price for being in the heart of a major city. They have a nice little bar and all of the public spaces are quite elegant and neat. I can not say enough good things about the staff. It was the great friendliness of the staff that helped make our stay so great.

There Are Better Choices
By None, 6/8/09
When I made reservation, I specifically asked for a non-smoking room. Even though they gave us one, the room reeked of smoke. When we asked for another room, we were told there were no others (aw come on - it was still early in the day and I had a hard time believing the couldn’t switch us). Housekeeping needs to do a better job because there were toe nail clippings on the window ledge - gross. We could hear doors slamming and people walking up and down the hallway all evening - not very quiet. This hotels biggest virtue is it's location, although there are several other better hotels, at comparable prices, in the area which are better choices.

A Back Bay Fave
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 1/3/09
Outstanding location. Shopping malls and the Boston T was right outside our front door. Just ideal location. Hotel was a bit pricey but its hard to complain considering all that is in the hotel and room. Loved the new rooms which were outstanding. Superb beds and everything was high quality. Browns, Khaki and Linen colors. It was very residential looking. The windows opened and were huge. Iphone plug in and the huge lcd tv was awesome. We brought DVDs with us and they had a player in the room. Very nice bath shampoos and robes. Staff was very friendly. Nice fitness center. Hotel said the rooms are brand new and it showed. For once, it looked just like their site. Only complaint was their pool was closed and we heard so much about it. Wished we could have tried it.

I would recommend to everyone!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 7/31/08
I reviewed many hotels before I settled on the Colonnade Hotel and I was not disappointed. The service was great and helped with questions about transportation and places to see. When we first arrived we had a problem with our toilet running, after a call to the front desk a repair man came right up and fixed it within ten minutes of our call. That's service! The hotel itself was very beautiful and elegant. We definitely got our moneys worth. The hotel is located in a great spot. It's not to far from area attractions and the subway is right next to the hotel. If you need a taxi the bell hop is right there to assist you. Overall this hotel was worth every penny and exceeded my expectations. I would definitely go back and refer this hotel to a friend.

A nightmare
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 7/2/08
My friends and I had reserved 2 rooms and had spoke with the reservation staff regarding adjoining rooms/early check in to make the most of the pool area. We were there for a bachelorette party. We were not able to check into our rooms until 3:45pm, 2 hours and 45 minutes after arriving. By then, we needed to get ready as we had dinner reservations. Once we were on route to our rooms the bell hop of all people decided to tell us "he knew we had booze in our bags and he was calling management." I am 31 years old, so you can imagine my rage, as well as the fact the bell hop had our bags for the nearly 3 hours we waited for our rooms and were in the bar waiting, so he had searched our bags? When management was called he began to shake one of our 5 bags, dropping it and hitting my sister in the leg! It was a horrible experience and not worth the money, we wished we had payed the little bit more and gone some where else or rented a limo for the night, it would have been cheaper and we would not have felt so much stress during what was suppose to be a nice, fun night.

Overpriced- Even for Boston
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 9/20/07
Great location with mall, Hynes convention center across street, lots of restaurants nearby, and the staff was very helpful. However, for $260/night, this hotel is not that nice. For example, the bed is hard, the bathroom door is very difficult to open and close due to many layers of paint, my desk lamp has no lightbulb, and the wifi access costs $14/day. Good note- The workout facilities are very nice. Also, if you sign up for the rewards program, you then get free internet access, but you still have to get a new access code from the front desk every day.

WHEN IN BOSTON... STAY AT THE COLONNADE
By Springcreeks, 9/13/07
We stayed at the Colonnade while we were in Boston attending the AARP Convention. We arrived early in the morning to the hotel and was ready to just check in our luggage, but surprisingly our room was ready. The room was on the 7th floor overlooking Huntington Avenue. We couldn't have been happier with the cleanliness, comfortable beds, decor, and in general the location of the hotel. It is in great walking distance to everything (even a grocery store to pick up snacks). We also found the hotel staff to be very friendly, courteous and helpful during our stay. Jimmy the bellman and Norman the doorman were great! The only negative thing I have to comment on is the on-site restaurant and it's staff. Although it is convenient I would definitely skip that on our next stay at the Colonnade.
