Don't waste your money like I did!
Well, I'll start with the one positive thing about this hotel. It was within walking distance of Grill 23 (the wonderful steak house my boyfriend and I dined at for Valentines Day). With that being said, I'm moving on to the the negatives. We waiting in line to check in for at least 25 minutes (which is inexcusable with what I paid for to stay at this "world renowned hotel" ha!). They (the one person working) told us that they were over booked and offered to put us up in their "sister" hotel, The Westin. For some reason I turned that down, partly because we were exhausted and just wanted to lay down, and the restaurant where we had reservations was in walking distance of this hotel. We went upstairs and went into the room. I instantly had a bad taste in the back of my mouth. The room (and I've stayed at my fair share of nice hotels) was tiny. The bathroom was the smallest thing I had ever seen. I was hoping the view (out the one window) would make up for this terrible start. I opened the shade to find a brick building (which is common in Boston, so I can't complain too much). The gross part was that that window, and it's shade were utterly filthy. I called down to the front desk to say that I'd take up their offer and go to the other hotel. Well, because we stepped foot in the room already, (we were there for under 5 minutes) the deal was off the table. They would have had to send housekeeping up, and lord knows, they couldn't do that! I took a deep breath and dealt with the terrible decision I had made. There was hair on the ceiling in the tiny bathroom. It took us a good 5 minutes to find the hair dryer (which was in the bottom dresser drawer, for anyone that needs to know). There was exposed wires under the heater. The walls were PAPER thin. We heard every movement in the rooms next to us. People slamming doors was what woke us up in the morning. Housekeeping would not leave us alone the following morning. They were loud and rude. Also, with the appearance of our room, they could not do their job. We definitely didn't use the glasses provided, as someone left their fingerprint on it. Overall, I was completely horrified with this room. I will never stay at this hotel again, and will never recommend it to others. Sorry to be harsh, but it was a complete waste of time and money.
