Asleep at the wheel?
By Ali, 07/06/09
1. frontdesk deserted @ checkin. Tried to verbally call for someone, no luck; used cell to call, no answer; walked into hotel restaurant & used their phone to call on in-house line & after about 7 mins a girl arrives & I checkin. 2. Misleading restaurant/inroom menus.(The 1st time I ordered dinner at the bar, the guy next to me was talking about being recently widowed, otherwise I wouldve made my compaints on the spot, but I just couldn't bring myself to interupt him to complain about food.) 1st order: what the menu described as "grilled shrimp cooked w/ olive oil & salt served w/ chili aioli" but INSTEAD given plain cold shrimp w/ cocktail sauce (WTF?) Still hungry, I order the grilled salmon salad w/ vinegrette on the side; INSTEAD given greens dripping in sugary honey-mustard + side of dressing. Ate the salmon; left the rest. 2nd order/roomservice: menu item "prime rib with fresh seasonal vegetables" but INSTEAD got the meat w/ previously frozen veg's w/ a really gnarly texture - didn't eat them. Last order: takeout from bar; wanted another item that came with "fresh vegetables" but upon inquirey about the veg's, the bartended confirmed "no they are frozen" so ordered cobb salad. Once in room saw the pile of lettuce had some nice avocado, but was missing 3 other menu toppings. Ate the avocado and left the hotel looking for proper food. 3. "business center" = 2 old PC's + 1 old printer, neither desktop working on 1st trip. I'd sent print jobs from the hotel's online print service to the BC but there was nowhere to enter print job "code" on he printer and the 2 PC's were frozen at C promt. The front desk woman relayed that the manager said just read the instructions on the back" (folks, I've done this before at other hotels without issues.) There's no literature in the BC so I went to my room & returned w/ the instructions - I had indeed followed them. I asked for the manager to PLEASE come out & help me; he came w/ me but couldn't figure out how to get the jobs to print; he suggested that I go back to my room, recopy ea doc onto his usb device, & bring it back to him to print in his office; I suggesting he instead resolve the issue & get the advertised service working; he agreed, took my printjob code & said he'd print the docs & personally deliver them to me. Nothing was ever deliverd, nor was there follow up of any kind by anyone: no voicemail, note or docs. EVER. I stopped by the BC days later & the oldest desktop appeared to be working. From the hotel's PC I was able to open up the website for the online print service, confirmed the old print jobs had expired, then re-sent these docs again (very time consuming bc the web app is slow). I was about to enter my "secret code" on the hotel PC when THE HOTEL PC AUTO REBOOTED! I thought I was on candid camera. I gave up. 4. check out - unlike every other hotel in the country I stay at, DT did not slip a printed receipt under my door on the last night of my 5 day stay, nor send an email copy, though my cc was charged. While doing my expense report I called the hotel to request a receipt, but the front desk could not find it in the system; said she needed to transfer me to her manager. I got his vmail and left a description of the problem and my contact info. No follow up. ZERO. 13 days later, I just called again to get my receipt. Same woman answered & again transferred my call to her manager, who she said she *knew* was in his office BUT I got voicemail. About 1.5 hours later mgr did call me back, and eventually located the missing receipt. It had my charges and my cc info but a different name belonging to some foreign company that I've never heard of - very weird. Glad to finally have it; just hope the expense report audit people don't give me flack about a hotel receipt without my name on it! Normally I cut service people LOTS of slack as I once worked multiple jobs in the "industry" but this just sucked royally.

misleading advertising?
By mjd, 01/19/09
They advertised for family weekend getaways at their pool but ... I booked a room b/c I thought it would be nice to for my family to spend the day at their indoor heated pool. However, the pool was in the 60's ... I complained three times and was promised that the manager would speak to me. This never happened ... I had to go searching for him on my own. When I confronted him with the situation, he said the pool was usually kept at 72 degrees anyhow. I told him that I would stop complaining if he put a said on and spent five minutes in the pool himself. At this point he admitted that the water was to cold and he would speak to the general manager to see if we could reach an accomodation. I never heard from the general manager. We checked out and won't be back.

Great Place with a fitness room & pool
By Karen D, 10/12/06
I stayed here for almost 3 weeks for business and really enjoyed my stay. The room service is great and the breakfast buffet is excellent. The rooms were really nice and the staff was friendly. They have a fitness room with the option of working with weights or on different machines. They also have a sauna, pool and hot tub. Each room has a sleep number bed which was great to sleep on and figure out what was my confort number. I would stay here again.

you can put lipstick on a pig but its still a pig
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 06/06/06
The newly decorated hotel is very nice but the staff is still unattentive and less than friendly. On our last visit the Sunday breakfast counter was devoid of any food...it was only 9:30. A man actually went into the kitchen to find juice. There were no cups for coffee and the staff never once apologized but seemed annoyed that people were getting angry. I counted exactly 14 diners..so being too busy was not the issue. We were never greeted with a good morning or any sign that we had entered the dining room. As I said you can put lipstick on a pig but its still a pig. You need to pay more attention to the staff and not just the brick and mortar.

Not thrilled with the stay!
By Ann, 05/17/05
I asked for early check in and was told not a problem. I explained I had to be at a wedding for 2:30 and couldn't check in at 3:00. I told them I was coming from out of town and needed to change. Room was not ready and had to ask to use someone else's room to change. There was food on the floor outside the door when I got my room finally at about 2:00 when I was about to leave for the wedding.(I got there at 1:10)That same plate of dirty food was still there the next day when I checked out around 10:00A.M.
