Breaking news: air not free, Marriott charges fee
By RickS, 08/23/08
As they say in real estate, location is everything. And... Marriott knows this too, and charges usurious fees for everything. Air, if they could figure out how. Wifi access, free in many hotels these days, $12.95/nite here. $42/nite parking, don't forget $5 tip as you check in your car, and when you take it out for the day. $3.50 for 500 ml Fiji water, while you can get a couple litre bottle for less at the 7-11 up the street. Breakfast buffet is $56+tip for three people. But the location is nice. Marriott and Hilton just aren't the hotel chains you ever want to stay at - we prefer B&Bs these days, and one visit to the "big" hotel chains reminds you why.

Won't be back!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 03/22/08
I stayed there this weekend and was highly disappointed in the service I received. I paid $279/night and to find that I had to pay another $42 for parking upset me. So for just a room for one night and parking I left paying $299 including taxes. The located was great, right near the aquariam and Legal Seafood. We were able to walk to area attractions from the location. I was also upset because on their website it indicated that children eat for free. Apparently if your hotel room has a specific code that means you're free. So I guess you have to "pay extra" to have your kid eat for free. My husband and I went to their restaurant for breakfast buffet ($16/ea.) annd they charged me for my 3 yr old that ate two pieces of watermelon. I got up and went to the front desk and asked why my child didn't eat for free and they explained that I had the wrong "code" on my room. Needless to say, my child ate the two pieces of fruit for free! I have never stayed at a hotel where you have to pay to park your car, ridiculous. I will be back to Boston to do the children's museum and aquariam again, just won't stay at the Marriot.

Close to things I wanted to see
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 09/05/07
We were able to see a lot of attractions close to the hotel by walking. If you don't mind the Big Dig all around... which, it's Boston? We were there on the 4th of July, a great walk/subway ride/walk to see the Pops. Our little one got cranky before the fireworks so we headed back to the hotel. We were still able to catch about a 60% view of the fireworks from the little park like area next to the hotel. Definitely a great pool for the kiddos and a nice atrium, an awesome deck over looking boats on the harbor. Lots of street vendors outside, maybe because of the holiday, but got some neat, affordable t-shirts, etc. if you like that sort of thing. Kids always do! The bedding/comforter was very plush. I really enjoyed my one night at this hotel, beat the traffic involved with 4th in Boston. Starbucks in the lobby and valet parking. What more could you ask for!

Great Hotel
By Mike, 08/15/07
Loved the location..close to the aquarium..Flanuil (sic) Hall..and very nice rooms and service..I highly recommend it..we were also able to get tour bus services around the city..tell a funny story..a great tour guide..who was a local was telling us the story of when Paul Revere got on his "hoss" to warn us about the British..well the bus giggled about his Boston accent..he quickly quipped.."I am the only one on this bus without an accent!"..the bus roared with laughter..anyway..check it out..

Fantastic Place to Stay
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 06/09/07
Wonderful hotel with a fantastic view. The service is outstanding and it is very clean. The rooms wer spacious and children friendly. I took my family there for the weekend and it was great because the New England Aquarium was right across the street and all the other attractions were only a walk away. A must see city and a fantastic place to stay!!

Ideal location if you're not driving
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 06/03/07
Located right next to the Aquarium T station and the MBTA pier for the Charlestown ferry, the Marriott Long Wharf is an ideal location for those who want to visit Boston without a car. The hotel's unique architecture and interiors evoke comparison to the nearby harborside warehouses and the tiered decks of a ship. Although our room was somewhat small, it was pleasantly decorated, clean, efficient, and VERY quiet. Beds and bedding were luxurious and comfortable. The hotel's common areas, lounge, restaurant, and pool are a perfect complement to the city in which it is located. However, this hotel works best as a base of operations for a working or pleasure trip to Boston, not necessarily as a stand-alone destination. The full corporate rate would not be a good value, but discounted rates are available with some web searching and patience.

Boston, MA
By Be, 05/14/07
Locating besides Charles River, Boston city is a solemn beautiful metropolis of Massachusetts. Many famous colleges and universities locate in this city, for instance: MIT, Havard, Boston College, Boston University... These campuses create a distinct characteristic for the city as the educational capital of the North America.

Got Kids? -- it's the best
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 03/05/07
I brought four children under 8. We were treated like family by the entire staff. I usually take advantage of the "Priceline" hotels, so paying a little more was out of character for me. It was worth every penny. The room was large enough to add a cot, the meals were delicious, the pool overlooking the harbor was soothing. With little legs everything was in walking distance. I not only will stay here again, but will recommend it to everyone else visiting Boston.
