New Owners - Great New Hotel!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/11/08
The new owners have really revamped this hotel and it is very stylish and beautiful!! The new pool area is gorgeous and the pool is mineral rather than chlorinated water. The only negative was the oridnary hotel continental breakfast with average food. Otherwise, it is a really great place to stay and would highly recommend it!

Disgusting && Appauling!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/30/07
No offense to anyone who this may or maynot offend. I was recently in Hagerstown for a Wedding. And we had the reception at the Clarion hotel. When we were first going up the hill to enter the hotel i saw a tower. {not knowing at the time it was part of the hotel.}I thought to myself wow what a rundown building. Then we went to check in. We were paying on 2 seperate bills and the man was tending to us. he was very nice and respectful but the "front desk manager, Judy" was the most rude person there. She got an attitude with us, and one of the family members had to leave becuase she made him so mad. Then we went to check the room. We walked up the hall way and every ince got hotter. The elevator felt like 100 degreese and when we got in our room 5008 it was hot. The sink was clogged. There was mold everywhere. The toilet wouldnt flush. The refridgerator wouldnt work, there was water already in the "complimentary cups" they give you the air conditioner wouldnt work and later that night we got a bad rain storm and our room leaked so we called the front desk and they told us "theres nothing we can do about it". Not all rooms are like that because the adjoining room beside us wasnt nice but it worked. The poster in the room says 100% satisfaction gaurenteed. And we did not pay for our room. the staff is very nice {minus Judy and a few other front desk managers} I WOULD NOT recommend this to anyone!

A decent place
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 06/27/07
The staff was very friendly and helpful. Our room, while not in the best shape, was clean and comfortable. The bathroom was stocked with supplies and clean towels and washcloths every day. We used one of the conference rooms and found it to be very suitable to our needs. All of the kids and adults in our group loved the pool. There is no continental breakfast, which was a disappointment, but there are lots of restaurants close by. The wireless internet was spotty; I could only access it in the conference room. Still, I found it to be a suitable place, especially for the price.

Never Again!!!!!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 05/28/07
The lobby and pool were pretty nice, and the staff was very friendly and helpful. But the rooms? Absolutely disgusting. The room smelled of smoke (although non-smoking), there were spiders crawling up and down the shower curtain, the tile in the bathroom needs work, and the faucet was leaky and covered with mold build up. It wasn't worth the room rate at all.

......wow...
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 03/24/07
This hotel is gross! I stayed for a 3 day conference, and all of my group said they thought it was gross! There were no roaches I saw this year, but they were there last year. The hallway's roof had a huge leak spot where the plaster was falling down. The upstairs rooms smelled horribly of animals. One of the conference rooms bathroom ceiling tiles FELL down into the stall. The maids didn't get to our room until about 5 p.m. and they didn't even have clean towels ready. A friend said when they took a shower the rag came out orange because the water is so gross....I could go on, so just don't stay there. We aren't having our conferences there anymore.

Roach Hotel
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 01/24/07
I will never stay at this hotel again. Not only did we have a dirty room, broken phone, broken towel bar. We were met with roaches crawling out of our sheets - very late at night. We were leaving the next morning - thank god! The front desk was told about the roaches by many other guests, including myself, but did not seem too concerned. Stay away from this hotel. We also had to unpack in the garage as to not bring any of the Clarion roaches into our homes.

Never, Ever stay here!!!!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 01/19/07
This place is filthy!! I was there for a meeting, and all 35 people reported the same thing. The rooms are filthy. The bathrooms are disgusting. Mold, water damge, peeling wallpaper, broken windows and lights, holes in the walls, urine odors, roaches and cold showers were a common theme. Clarion should be ashamed to have its name on this hotel. Never stay here!!

Stay at the Comfort Suites instead!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 09/20/06
I checked in and got to my room. There was a very noticeable smell of urine and cigarette smoke. I went back to the desk and asked for them to switch me but all the other rooms were "sold out" despite a pretty empty parking lot. So I went out for dinner to cool off a bit, and returned to find crickets on the floor in my bathroom. That was it and I bailed out. The Comfort Suites is a little farther down the Dual Highway, like a mile or 2, and was $10 a night more expensive, but brand new and immaculate! They also have a great continental breakfast. I am in Hagerstown a lot for business and would never stay at the Clarion again.

Once the lights came back on...
By Clayton, 07/29/06
As we approached Hagerstown there was a terrible thunderstorm. When we went to check all of the electricity in the area was out. We were kindly helped into a room and offered some candles. Once the electricity came back on all was what we would expect. The children enjoyed the pool. The complimentary continental breakfast turned out to be a $5.00 per person “discounted” meal at the hotel’s restaurant… The hotel was not “rough-around-the-edges”, but was well-worn. We would stay again, if we were to pass through the area.

Great Hotel
By Kent, 08/23/05
This hotel had provided me a home away from home. I travel on business weekly and look forward to thier outstanding service. The rooms are nice and clean and they have wireless internet access.
