30 reviews for Carousel Resort Hotel & Condominiums, Ocean City
OK Hotel
By Michele, 01/01/10
We decided to come for New Years. The place is ok. Like some of the other reviews, it is very dated. The couch cover was ripped, there were stains on the couch and chairs. The toilet seat was broken. It smelled like they tried to over compensate for cleaning. It smelled liked they doused the room in lysol. I would not recommend the buffet. We paid $26 per person and there was not much of a selection. For the price it was ok.

Grandchildren loved it can't wait to go back
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/22/09
We stayed at more expensive places that we not as nice as this, the staff was friendly the food wasn't that great in the restaurant, we just found someplace else to eat. This is the ideal place to go on a family vacation, the grand children always had something to do. We will do it again next year

Not a good place to stay
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/04/09
My family and I stayed for 4 nights and we were not pleased with our visit. To begin with there were streaks on the sheets. The bathroom was extremely small. And to top it all off our vehicle was broken into while in the on site parking lot and we received no compassion from the manager. As a matter a fact he had a nonchalant attitude toward the situation. Overall WORST HOTEL I have ever been to by far.

Hotel is disgrace!!!!!!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/25/08
This hotel was disgusting. We paid $250 a night for an ancient room with bayside view with torn carpet, holes in the curtains, bugs, old blood on the towels, black streaks on the "clean" sheets. Management did not care about our being upset. I had to complain for 3 days to general mgr in order to get a reduced rate for 1 day! Stay elsewhere!!!!!

Disappointed
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/20/08
I just returned from a 2 night stay (7/17-7/19/08) and was disppointed. I imagine the facility was very nice when first built/furnished, but the hotel rooms need some serious updating and the room and bathroom could use more detailed cleaning services. Our room was over the ice skating rink so I was ready to see the "profesisonal" skaters - they looked like a couple of high school skaters, again disapponting. The outdoor pool was smaller than the one in most people's backyards, but is supposed to serve the entire hotel and condo! They need another pool and many more places to sit/lounge around it. Receiving a coupon for 2 free beach chairs was an unanticipated offer, but we did not use them because the beach was far too crowded! I will not be returning.

Ocean city MD and bad deal from CcheapTickets
By Christina F, 07/18/08
We wanted an ocean front room and were cheated by CheapTickets! Check the rates and availability with the hotel first. You might not get what you paid for!!!!!

A small dissapointment, but okay overall.
By Holly M, 07/13/08
We booked through hotels.com, and we shouldnt have done that for one. we would have gotten a better deal through the hotel it;self. the main dissapointment was that this was rated as the best and most kid friendly hotel in the area, so we took it. We booked for a beach view room, and well got a view of the beach.... way out you could see a tiny bit of beach, but that was because it was blocked by rooftop and another building. We paid extra to have an "ocean view" Also, the room was not child safe. cords hanging out, carpet ripped up exposing tacks... unfortunatly when we alerted the hotel manager with our concerns it was labor day weekend, and they where booked full, and could not move us, and they said we would have to take up a dispute with hotels.com for a full or patial refund. Other than that, the beach was nice, and the inside is great, with an ice cream stand downstairs, the prices are high, but the quality is too. I wouldnt say the same about the service though. This hotel would be good for ages 7 and older, sue to many safty concerns in halls and outside on poperty. There really isnt much for youngsters to do anyways... Parking is a little crazy too.

I didn't want to leave.. has an ice skating ring in the middle of the hotel including an indoor pool, a gym, a sauna, and a pool.. and don't forget the arcade.. I loved it all!! Can't wait to go back in a few days.

Mistake, avoid entirely, stinks.
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/09/08
When I made reservations for the 4th of July 2008 for my son, daughter and myself, I asked specifically for a room on the side where fireworks would be easily visible. They gave me ocean front @350.00 a night. However, as soon as I checked in I noticed a flier that stated fireworks could be viewed from atop of the parking garage (inlet side) at 9:30pm. Room was very old and certainly not clean, I was in the old part for sure not the high rise. Toilet, sink, microwave and refrigerator were in sad shape. Internet connections did not work at all inside of the room and barely around the ice cream area. I called the front desk about the problem and they assured me that if I would just dis-able my firewall and anti-virus software that the connection would be much better (gee, I've only been in the computer field for 25+ years and know an excuse when I hear one). On the 4th of July we participated in the hotel picnic $15.00 10 yrs+ and $8.00 for under 10. Free food, snow cones, cotton candy and ice cream (oops, the help outside said free ice cream but once ya got in they said no, only the cotton candy). At $350.00 a night and 15+15+8 you would think they could throw in a free ice cream. The big problem then occured! At 8:45pm we started across to the hotel garage to see the fireworks, that's the whole reason for going and as we stood on top of the garage with others it began to ran so we went back inside to see if the fireworks were canceled. The front desk politely inform us that the fireworks had been move up to 8:00pm and were already completed. They said they notified everyone (we had no room message, heard no broadcast period). Seems strange that we could here every little bump on the wall from our neighbors and all the other outside noise but no booming fireworks at 8:00pm. We heard all other fireworks from people around the hotel. Pools : Neither the indoor or outdoor pool were heated. Food : Cold, lousy at best. Help staff : Poor, very bad English. Ice rink : Nice ice show then the kids got to ice skate for $10.00. Overall : It stinks.

Stay Away!!!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 06/26/08
Where to start: Literally, everything about this hotel stinks. It is truly geared for families with very small children. Everything closes at or before 10PM. Room service and housekeeping were non-existent. NO ONE SPOKE ENGLISH! Half the reason why we did not get the service desired was because no one understood us with the exception of a few front desk folks. No one was friendly there (staff). They had to close the indoor pool due to potential 'fecal matter' contamination. Everything was laid out wrong. We stayed at the most expensive/largest suite in the hotel expecting a beautiful view and a very nice private/quite time. The room was so poorly laid out, that the refrigeration units for the ice skating rink were located right below the suites! Can you even imagine? If you sat on your expensive balcony, you went deaf from the roar of the fans! The room was filthy and falling apart. Even after complaints, we still did not get proper service and a clean room. There is no toilet seat. How can you not have a toilet seat cover?? Can you imagine only one garbage can for an entire suite? They ripped us off for the infamous ‘$30 gas credit’, claiming we had to book online so many weeks before. It says no such thing on the coupon. The food (breakfast) was cold every morning. Do yourself a favor, stay away from this hole. It's not worth $1.00/night let alone $300/night.
