Village By The Sea, Wells

MY WIFE AND I WERE THERE IN JUNE OF 2010, MAID SERVICE IS NULL, ROOMS ARE DIRTY THIS IS NOT OUR FIRST TRIP THERE BUT MIGHT BE OUR LAST. VERY RUDE STAFF.

i prepaid for a 2 night dinner and breakfast plan as a xmas present for my husband. Used it march 27 and 28, first the dinner restaurant was closed we were told to use billy;s chower house, breakfast was out , the restaurant was not available. I understood all this, but the employee who checked us in , was told i could use the extra, money left , on another night . Not happy . The worst was when she said , she would have maintance come and close off 2 rooms as we were only pd for i bedroom, they were locked by maintance, i thought that was very petty. Not very good atonement for the inconvience.

What a find! The property had a newly renovated indoor pool which is gorgeous! The property has huge suites with full kitchens and 2 bathrooms which was great with a large family. The property is beautifully landscaped and the outdoor pool is outfitted with all new pool furniture. They also have a fitness room, jacuzzi tub and game room which was great for the kids. Can't wait to come back during the summer season to enjoy the beautiful state of Maine!

The furnishings were old. The suite needed repainting,no hand soap in one bathroom,& the entryway rug was disgusting. My wife & I only stayed one night, so perhaps we didn't have one of their better suites. If we had stayed longer, I don't know what we would use for dishes & pots & pans. Very few were available.

I don't know why we went up in the middle of February, as it was freezing in Maine, but the deal was tremendous! We had an absolutely beatiful room and view. I thought, for the low price we'd paid, we'd end up with some rinky-dink room, which was absolutely not the case. The staff was friendly and accommodating. I would never stay anywhere else in Wells!

The grounds were immaculate and newly landscaped along with their newly renovated indoor pool with spa/fitness center/game room. The adults enjoyed the large suites with 2 baths and full kithchen which enabled us to save money on dining out all the time. The kids enjoyed the pools and spa and the game room. The staff was very personable adn helpful including dining and travel suggestions. This hotel is located directly across from Dunkin Donuts which works out great for breakfast. Can't wait to come back with my family! Would highly recommend it to everyone.

The cleanliness leaves a lot to be desired to say the least. I was disappointed as several years ago this was a great place to stay. I suspect that since the units are individually owned it is a hit or miss. The furniture in our unit had large stickers with the UPC codes on them. The mirror on the back of the bedroom door had a white substance smeared all over it. The windows were disgusting. The window blinds were askew. The carpet buckled in places, walls were marked up. One of the closets could not be opened without the door coming off. That said, our room was better than the room our friends were in. Their carpet looked like it came out of a garage after repairing cars for a year. We would not have stayed if we had not pre-payed.

The suite we stayed in in October 2006 had filthy accordian folded wall to wall carpet, the furniture had not been cleaned in years, the hall carpet was filthy and had a smell something lilke urine. We had to body slam the bathroom door to close and the toilet barely worked. The operative word is "s keevy."

What a great find ! Tremendous units- very clean and all the staff makes you feel at home. Its a must if you are traveling in Wells , Maine

We stumbled on Village by the while driving by and stopped in to look at a room. We ended up staying 3 nights there and loved every minutes. We traveled with our 2 kids who got to share their own bedroom and have their own beds. We had a full kitchen and dining room, the kids had their own bath. It was so wonderful. We made a reservation to stay a week in the Summer and cannot wait. What a great find!
