Rocktide Inn, Boothbay Harbor

The food in the dining room was good. The room was dirty & even after complaining it was not cleaned properly. Food was on the floor & tray holding the coffee cups.

Stayed last week at the Inn which although dated was fine and everyone was very nice and helpful-however the resturant was a different story-it was a Wed night and not busy at all-the waitress was constantly apologising for everything-took ages for our drinks to arrive-the salads were smothered in dressing and looked like they had been sitting out uncovered way to long and all the food seemed to been bought in from somewhere other than their own kitchen-the food would arrive with plastic covers and had clearly been cooked "offsite" (the waitress kept telling us our food was less than 5/10 minutes away -away where I'm not sure!) My husband ordered Lobster Stew which arrived in a large soup bowl sitting on a plate covered by yet another bowl-most of the Stew had spilt out of the bowl and was all over the plate-when the waitress removed the top bowl it looked like someone had thrown up all over the bowl-the presentation was awful-I was horrified-the waitress didn't see a problem with it! The main course was a little better and dessert was clearly prepared onsite because it was served in a timely manner and was very nice- however it was not inexpensive dinner and I expect a better level of service for that amount of money. Such a shame about this because they do have a lovely place on the harbor with wonderful views!

ROCKTIDE INN IS VERY CLEAN AND THE STAFF VERY FRENDLY. WE STAYED 3 NIGHTS AND COULD NOT BRING OURSELVES TO CHECK OUT, SO WE STAYED 1 MORE NIGHT! THE VIEW FROM OUR ROOM WAS JUST WONDERFUL! THE BREAKFAST WAS GREAT - SO WAS DINNER! THANK YOU STAFF, WE WILL BE BACK!

Great location, walk to town across bridge, restaurant has great food, bar has great atmosphere, all staff is very friendly and helpful. We can't wait to go back and bring friends!!

The two handicapped accessible rooms were ex- cellent both with a regular and a full accessible bathroom with a roll-in shower. The only drawback the rooms were located where they had the washers and dryers which started about eight am each morning. The food was okay only serving breakfasts and dinners. The staff was excellent.

The pictures on the website don't help this lovely place. Maybe it's the turquoise shutters. The rooms are clean and comfortable. Our room smelled of fresh paint and we had a nice little porch to see Boothbay harbor out of. I never saw the pool. The bar is decorated like a straw hut and the drinks were cheap. $7 for a cosmo. the restaurant is panelled with rich wood. We only ate breakfast there, which I am not a good judge of. There were sausages, eggs, potato pattie, fruit and toast and donuts. I was hoping for pancakes with maple syrup. I don't like to eat a very fat filled breakfast. The desk staff was extremely friendly. I thought it was a great bargain.

Wonderful place to take a vacation. Very clean. Fantastic buffet breakfast. Parking area very safe, vehicles watched over.Very quiet and relaxing.Highly recommend it. We keep going back. Have tried other places,none come close to the quality you get here for your money. A+

Wonderful location one the water, but not congested. Near the foot bridge so you can walk into town or ride the trolly. Nicely furnished, clean rooms. Employees very friendly and respectful. A nice class of people stay at the Rocktide. Excellent complimentary breakfast. Beautiful dinning room with a lovely view of the harbor. Wonderful dinners. Affordable meals. I have stayed at other Motels or bed and breakfasts in Boothbay harbor over the past 25 years, but after staying at the Rocktide, I will never go any place else.

.... and will keep going back!! The rooms are clean and comfortable, and best of all there is an indoor pool so our daughter can go swimming if the weather is poor. They also have a wonderful buffet breakfast that is included in the price of your room, and if you are traveling by boat you can tie it up at their dock for no additional charge. The prices are very reasonable, and it's close to town (you can walk over on the nearby footbridge or take their trolly).

We have been there two differnt times. Once before the current owners, we loved our experince at that time. We returned one year later and were very disappointed. Ever since they changes hands, the service, the cleanliness, and the value have dropped.
