AWFUL !
By R C, 08/13/08
There is bad, worse, and worst--this is the worst. I’ve stayed in old hotels before, but this one was old, dirty, and neglected. The list of things wrong with this hotel is long and it’s absolutely ridiculous. I stayed two nights and changed rooms only to find that this hotel is consistently bad. This is a list of the things that I found: filthy carpets in the hallways, holes in the hallway walls, a cigarette burn in the bed’s duvet/comforter, dirty moldy showers, rusty sprinklers, dead bugs inside the bathroom overhead light, peeling wallpaper, peeling ceiling paint, dirty dishes left in the hallway for days, dirty floors around the vending machines, dirt coffee makers, dirty hair driers, holes in the window blinds, old shabby furniture in the rooms that is dirty and in need of updating, and lastly an all around dirty hotel. Don’t stay here, it’s bad, the only people that should be paying a visit to this hotel are the board of health.

Double charged
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 01/31/08
We stayed here because we had always enjoyed it as the DoubleTree. We had an unforunate billing experience that we can't solve. Both mine and my husband's cards were charged for the second night. I have had nothing but excuses about what happened and they have no record of charging my card. Maybe this review will go somewhere that will straighten this out for us.

Sad old Ramada Inn
By Homer D, 01/25/08
This hotel is trying to pose as upscale when it is nothing but a shoddy build, old and worn out Ramada Inn Walls are truly so thin you hear everything from adjoining rooms (And be assured they hear everything from yours) when someone closes a door on the room next to you, the walls of your room shake as well The furniture and linens desperately need an upgrade and the management is useless if you ask for anything changed or repaired Save your money and stay at a Super 8 or Motel 6 for the same quality

Great Hotel!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/19/07
Everything about this place is 1st rate. The employees are friendly and go out of their way to be helpful. Very clean, and the food is good and reasonably priced. The beds are fantastic, very very comfortable. This place is definitely a cut above the rest.

NEVER AGAIN !!!!!!!!!!!!!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 04/08/05
The WORST !!! My wife and I made the mistake of checking into this three ring circus last Friday night-- we had driven almost 5 hours up to Portland for a business presentation the next day. We asked for a non-smoking room, but wound up with a room that reeked of smoke-- they had also given us a room right next to the pool--the noise was incredible as there was some sort of kids thing going on in Portland--the hotel was jammed with kids running up and down the hallways-- that night at 2:00am the drunks in the room next to us started to party--walls so thin you could hear everything--called to the front desk--nothing. They did nothing at all. Thsi went on until 5:00am--I went down for my presentation-with no sleep-- requested another room later in the day but was told that was out of the question--everything was booked (yeah right)--that night I was trying to get some much needed rest, but there was a pool party right outside my room ! twenty kids screaming, yelling, etc-- and the hotel left the pool open unitl 11:30 pm !!!! INSANE !! NO SLEEP two nights in a row-- went down to the front desk and complained--all I got was an 18 year old front desk kid who could have cared less. Avoid this joke of a hotel at all costs. You've been warned !

Good value and good service
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 03/04/05
We enjoyed our stay at the doubletree. We liked the pool and the shuttle service. But we also disliked the room size and the bathroom. The bath room needed a litle refreshing. Tiles were cracked and the caulking around the tub and toilet were stained. Just a little cleaning and a little work would have increased our thought of this hotel.

Convenient yet a bit expensive
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 02/09/05
I got stranded in Portland during a snowstorm, so I picked this hotel because it's just off I-295. I found it to be a bit expensive for a room with no-thrills, and, had the weather been better, I would have searched for a place with a more reasonable price. However, the room was clean and warm, the hotel was quiet, the express checkout feature was nice, and a nice warm and tasty cookie was offered at check in. Overall, it was a good stay.

Very close to downtown
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 09/07/04
Not much to look at on the outside, but the rooms are clean and downtown Portland is a 5 minute ride. SeaDogs Stadium is only a few blocks away, too.
