Great Hotel Great Location
By HJH, 09/20/09
Beautiful hotel in the great French Quarter. The hotel and room were exceptionally clean The staff is very friendly and helpful. Quiet location location, but only 1 1/2 blocks to Bourbon Street. You can walk to anywhere in the French Quarter and to Harrah,s if you want to go to the casino. Rooms and bathrooms are a little small, but I think this is standard for the area.

Great Place to Stay
By David, 05/17/09
The location is one of the best in the French Quarter, 1 block from Burbon St, 2 blocks from Jackson Square and 3 blocks from Harrah's. The service was great and the hotel was beautiful. The staff was very friendly and helpful.I would recommend this place to anyone who wants to be close to everything, but doesn't want all the noise and traffic of Burbon St. The veiw from the rooftop patio is also a plus.

Wonderful!
By michael m, 08/09/08
This was my first trip to New Orleans, and wont be my last! This is a very nice hotel in a great location. You can walk to everything you want to do. The roof top bar has a great view of the Quarter! Room was clean and had a good bed, I just wish they would upgrade to a better tv. This really is a nice place to stay and when I return I will stay here!

Beautiful hotel, perfect location.
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/06/07
You really can't go wrong with the Omni Royal. Location is perfect -- right in the heart of the Quarter and enough distance from Bourbon Street if you're not in the mood for that chaos. Beautiful building and reasonably priced. Staff quickly gave us additional pillows and fixed a bathroom problem, and even followed up later with a phone call to make sure it was taken care of. Be sure to check out the rooftop pool, bar and observation deck. One of the best features in a great hotel.

Awesome location and beautiful hotel!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 02/15/07
If you're there for pleasure, it's a fabulous place to stay! The staff is great and the rooms are okay, not stellar, but considering how old the hotel is, great condition. The bathrooms were kept clean, but could probably be re-done in the next 3-5 years. The ambiance is wonderful and you definitely "feel" the spirit of New Orleans in this hotel. If, on the other hand, you are staying at this hotel for business - I may hesitate and opt for a newer hotel. They still have not worked out all of the wireless "kinks" and the wireless service in the conference rooms was unpredictable and in the guest rooms was also shotty. I found from my colleagues that it helped to be on the higher floors. Overall, the hotel was gorgeous and the service was good. It's a great location because youre close to everything "cool" in the French quarter without being woken up by it all at 3am.

The best hotel in the quarter!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 01/11/07
The Omni is a wonderful, beautiful hotel right in the middle of the french quarter. My husband and I staied their for our anniversary. We staied in a Jr. Jacuzzi Suiet. It was pricey, but worth every penny.

not that great
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/28/06
Convenient Location, YES.... I would likely not stay here again. The price was not worth the package. The rooms were clean, but they were tiny (think Paris, France tiny). I am a female and there was a pedestal sink and no real vanity so it made for complicated makeup and hair each morning. I had no view but that wasn't important to me. If you get thirsty and want a drink you can have New Orleans tap water OR 12oz coke from the mini bar (4.75) or some of the evian water (7.00). There were no breakfast accomodations in the morning but a resteraunt yes. I complained that my television was broken and they did come fix it. However, when I went down to ask questions the staff looked at me strange like they were annoyed I was bothering them. I had my car in vallet which was 31.36 per day (that includes tax). When I arrived a bellman, whom I believe was working alone that day, brought my things indoors and I proceded to bring them up to my room. I thought that was strange. When I scheduled my wake-up call for the morning they repeated back to me call for 6a.m. with a 6:15 follow-up which I thought was cool. Even better than that, I DID get a call at 6:15 but I was in the shower at that point and did not answer, so a few moments later there was a knock at my door to make sure I was awake. That was truly impressive. Overall I would say it was so-so. If you are easily content then this will probably work for you.
