Great location. ThIs is where I will always stay
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 12/4/08
Nice rooms with real antique furniture. The second time that I stayed there the Bellhops and the front desk knew my name when I arrived.

A charming, beautiful, orderly hotel undaunted by hurricane Katrina!
By Jason, 7/24/06
I don't know what Hotel Provincial was like prior to hurricane Katrina, so I can't compare it to the property's current condition. When I visited in July 2006 I experienced a most charming, clean, and orderly hotel. On the ground level off a pretty courtyard I stayed in a room that was renovated after the storm. It was quiet and quaint with furnishings that looked antique. The bed provided a very comfortable night of sleep. Bed and bath linens were very clean. The fixtures and appliances were all in working order. The hotel has an excellent location. It's within very short walking distance of the French Market, Cafe du Monde, the Aquarium of the Americas, and a wonderful assortment of restaurants and shops. The hotel itself has two restaurants - Stella and Stanley - which provide fine and family dining. At night everything was quiet and peaceful at the hotel. I was part of a group of 130 people that stayed at Hotel Provincial for a few nights. Despite the large size of our group the staff was attentive on an individual level and very welcoming. I will definitely stay at Hotel Provincial if/when I visit the French Quarter again.

In the Heart of the Quarter, In the Heart of the People
By Marjorie, 4/14/06
Fantastic location - just two blocks off Jackson Square, but quiet! Warm, welcoming staff - helpful, and ever so patient with our group of 14. Charming rooms and courtyard with fountain. You can still come to New Orleans and have a wonderful time even after Katrina. Most businesses are open, although many have abbreviated hours of operation because of a shortage of workers. The quality of our stay at Hotel Provincial, however, did not seem to be affected by this. We all thoroughly enjoyed our time there and plan to return. They won our hearts.

This place was wonderfull, just a couple blocks off Rue Burbon, huge lofts. and the lovlest court yard.We were only there one night, and left earlie in the morinng, but the loft was awsome, and being that close to burbon st. it was actually sooo quiet

A Special Place in Our Heart
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 8/24/05
This lovely, quaint hotel is situated quite close to the action in the French Quarter and Cafe DuMonde, however, it maintains it's quiet, romantic allure. My husband and I spent a romantic weekend there (35 years ago, before we had kids). I still remember the lovely appointed room overlooking a central courtyard fountain. Then we went back (35 years later) and the hotel managment honored our request for the same room. Heavenly trip. The hotel's location is perfect for a quick dash to the farmer's market (located directly behind the hotel) or a quick jaunt to Jackson Square. All in all, a most exciting and memorable experience.

In Just the Right Spot
By MistyH, 8/23/05
This hotel is great for a lot of reasons. It has a ghost story (although that isn't really unusual in New Orleans). It has historical value. The rooms are lovely - but I have to admit that the bed was a little hard. The staff is nice. However, the best thing about this hotel is the location. It's in the French Quarter but it's not ON River Street, which is great if you want to be near the party but also able to get away from it. It's one street over from Royal Street, which has all the antiques, art galleries and restaurants you can desire. Just downstairs is the Cafe Beignet, a nice alternative to the more crowded Cafe DuMonde. My room looked directly across the street to the historic Ursuline Convent. Frommer's travel guide recommended it and I must agree that it's a great buy considering all that you're getting.

Great value in The Quarter
By RyanO, 5/31/05
We've stayed twice here and we're staying again this summer. Very friendly and helpful staff. We told them we liked our room very much, and without requesting it, the put us in the same room the next year. Easy walking distance to Jackson Square and the French Market. Nice courtyard with fountain, onsite parking(which is more important than you think in NOLA), and a pretty pool. Rooms have cool antique beds and furniture.

I've dreamt about it ever since!
By Joy Copeland, 5/23/05
My friends and I were hoping to make a regular habit of going to Jazz Fest every year. And our second year there we stumbled upon this haven of a hotel and still haven't been able to go back but can't get it out of my head! A Picturesque french hotel with a fabulous staff that were kind and helpful. Our room was in the courtyard and we marveled at the fountain and greenery. It was a bit to chilly to jump in the pool, but everything was well maintained and simply adorable. I have recommended this hotel to anyone going to New Orleans. It's the perfect location close to the fun of Bourbon street and Jackson Square but most importantly a safe feeling as it sits back a bit from the rest of the chain hotels that are down town. I can not wait until I can take my boyfriend for a tete a tete, I just know he will love it like I do!
