I've dreamt about it ever since!
By ,
My friends and I were hoping to make a regular habit of going to Jazz Fest every year. And our second year there we stumbled upon this haven of a hotel and still haven't been able to go back but can't get it out of my head! A Picturesque french hotel with a fabulous staff that were kind and helpful. Our room was in the courtyard and we marveled at the fountain and greenery. It was a bit to chilly to jump in the pool, but everything was well maintained and simply adorable. I have recommended this hotel to anyone going to New Orleans. It's the perfect location close to the fun of Bourbon street and Jackson Square but most importantly a safe feeling as it sits back a bit from the rest of the chain hotels that are down town. I can not wait until I can take my boyfriend for a tete a tete, I just know he will love it like I do!

Room with a view...
By ,
We weren't sure what to expect initially, given the high prices of most French Quarter hotels and the low rate we were quoted at The Provincial. But we were absolutely delighted with the room, which was quite spacious and adorned with the ornate furniture of the period indicative of the hotel's name. The room also had a fabulous balcony overlooking the gardens of a monestary/convent across the street. And we were just a short walk from The Market, Cafe du Mond and the waterfront. I'd highly recommend this hotel. It's a charming gem for a great price!

Will stay at another next time
By ,
We had called the week before requesting a courtyard view, but we were given a view of the parking lot. When we requested a better room they were supposedly full & they could not provide, After a couple phone calls we were put into a room near the courtyard & with a king size bed. They advertise rooms filled with antiques, they are antiques but not really nice ones as far as furishings. Could not use the pool, the water was too cold, no hot tub.

Hot and Cold Shower - YUCK
By ,
Hotel was beautiful. The room was lovely. The air conditioner was not very cold, however, the weather was pleasant. My biggest complaint was the shower water. At 7am we were wanting Cafe DuMonde so I jumped in the shower. The shower ran "extremely" hot then "extremely" cold all throughout my shower. I was afraid to rinse the shampoo out of my hair. I was either going to be frozen or scalded. This is my one complaint about this hotel. The rest of our stay was great.

Quaint and Cute
If you want the look and feel of the Big Easy than this hotel supplies it. Cute courtyards with fountains, gas lamps and antiques, make this a unique New Orleans experience. I have enjoyed this hotel many times. Location is on the quiet side of the quarter, close walking distance to Jackson Square, French Market and Cafe Dumonde for Beinges. The rooms come in all shapes and sizes. Each building is a little different. Ask questions to insure you get a nice renovated room. Yes, there musty, yes there old. But the age is part of the charm. Don't get a standard room, spend a little more, it is worth it. I'll go back again and again for that definate NOLA experience at this little gem.

Hotel Provincial was a wonderful place to stay.
By ,
The staff were courteous, friendly, and very helpful. We stayed during the off-season, around Thanksgiving. The hotel was doing a roofing project on the building that we were in, so they asked us if we wanted to move to a new room. They assisted us with moving to a beautiful room between the courtyards with the fountain and the pool. Both rooms we stayed in had beautiful antique furniture; both rooms were more beautiful and cleaner than more expensive hotels that I have stayed in. The staff was extremely helpful, and quite knowledgable about the area, including interesting and fun things to do. Also, it is quite close to many attractions. We found it to be pretty secure and safe as well, since there was a guard at the gate to the parking lot. Staying at this hotel was not only a wonderful experience, but a great overall value.
