Loved everything about it!!!
By Nikki, 3/5/12
The staff was great!!! We were late checking in and had to turn right back around to make it to the Hornets game. I was surprised to see how quickly we got checked in and to my surprise, we were upgraded to a suite!!!! The room was gorgeous. The courtyard was a great place for pictures. Also, the valet recommended a club away from Bourbon street and we had a ball!! The bed was so comfortable I overslept and was a little late in checking out. lol. The front desk agent totally understood and didn't rush us. It was close to Bourbon and I actually think I lost some weight from walking. lol. Great place and can't wait to stay here again!!!

Convenient location and low-key comfort
By JustJennarie, 6/9/11
Really can't say enough great things about the Maison Dupuy. Totally centrally located, the staff was helpful and accommodating--I was traveling on my own and they made me feel welcome, and well-prepped with maps before I headed out the door. The courtyard is charming, and while the rooms might not be totally spacious, they were clean (and who spends the whole day indoors in NOLA, may I ask?). A great gem that gives you access to the French Quarter without making you feel like you're ON trashy Bourbon Street. I was almost skeptical to put up a review out of fear that everyone would find out about it and I wouldn't be able to get affordable rates anymore, but I have to spread the New Orleans good vibes!

Wonderful Hotel hands down!!!!!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 1/15/11
I don't know what this last reviewer is talking about but this hotel is a hidden gem. You just have to know that most disgruntle people are pissed off about the prices in NO so they will make anything horrible. I had concerns related to a few negative posts before deciding to go with this hotel but after experiencing it for myself I'm glad I stayed at the Maison Dupuy. Lovely hotel. I did not fear for my safet , the location is perfect. It's walks away from some of the nicest shops, beautiful residential architecture buildings and only a few blocks from burbon street. The hotel has this beautiful pool and hot tub. My family and I stayed during the 4th of July weekend and the city was full of people but the location of this hotel was perfect for us because one minute you're exploring the city's boistorous activities then you're back relaxing in this luxurious, quite and enchanting hotel. We had a balcony view of the pool and the room was well maintained, This hotel is easily a 4 or 5 star hotel with two restaurants. The staff was friendly without being bothersome and the rooms were very clean. Nothing out of the ordinary or alarming about this hotel. Loved it and will definitely return.

Friendly staff, nice pool, good breakfast buffet, rooms nicely done, modern and clean. Definitely spring for the deluxe category so you get a view. Gay friendly.

The hotel is OK.
By Kirk, 5/18/10
I'm going to be as fair as I can about my review of the Maison Dupuy Hotel in New Orleans. Customer service is the most important thing to me and I will rate that as fairly as possible. -Location: Great location and close to almost anything in the French Quarter. - Arrival: The staff at the front desk were friendly and even made my restaurant reservation for my party that night. - Rooms: The rooms are ice cold, beds are comfortable, hot water/pressure is pretty good and most importantly its clean. I will say that the pictures on the website do not represent the actual rooms unless you're probably getting a Suite. The rooms are a little out-dated. Also, I was annoyed that I had to call down for cups, and an ice-bucket. Then I found out that I didn't have a "Do Not Disturb" Sign or a coffee machine in the room too. Most of these things were missing in both the rooms I rented. They did deliver them without any problem but for a "4" star hotel, I expect a bit more. -Valet: The Valet is horrible. I've stayed at quite a few hotels and these guys take it for worst customer service. First, they won't help out with your luggage. At a 4 star hotel, I expect them to bring the luggage cart out, load it up and at a minimum and bring it to the front desk for me. Not these guys, matter of fact when my sister asked if they helped bring luggage in the valet replied with an attitude, "Why, do you need help." Secondly, The valet guys would be right inside the lobby counting their money that they made that day and joking around. For me, that's a bit trashy - go to your break room to count your money. Oh and good luck trying to find a valet to get your car. We walked out with our ticket to get our car (its pretty obvious why we're standing by the valet stand with a ticket in hand) and the valet who did see us walked right by us to put away another car. Never once did he even acknowledge us with a "Hey guys, I'll be right back" or anything. We waited about 5 minutes for him to come back. No hustle in his step what so ever. - Bar: Let me start off by saying that the bartender named Steven was superb! He was friendly, talkative, knew his way around NOLA and recommended two of the best restaurants I've ever eaten at. He even called a few different restaurants for me to find out wait times without me asking. WOW. Good job Steven! - Restaurant: We had breakfast one morning. It's buffet and was pretty good. Now the service again is another story. We sat down and they immediately brought us coffee/tea/water (one thing you could get yourself). Now for the entire 45 minutes we ate breakfast, the servers never came back to check up on us. We ran out of coffee and water. I had to get someone's attention for the check. Overall: I paid $119 per room plus $32 for valet and would spend that kind of money again at the Maison Dupuy. During the high-season they charge from $300 - $400 per night which to me is way too high for what I get. I'd rather spend that at the Ritz Carlton or at a Marriott where I know I'll get 4 star service.

Maison Dupuy Tres Bon!
By DallasDude52, 7/4/09
Just stayed here end of June and it was great! Rates were more than competitive and received service that was superb! Room Service even called back after a meal to see if everything was fine. Close enough to walk the French Quarter but far enough away to be calm and quiet! Anyone who has a negative experience posted must have been somewhere else than where I was!!!

Enjoyed our stay
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 2/21/09
We upgraded our room to a balcany & would recommend doing so. Our room was quite nice, the bed was extremely comfortable. The bathroom was a little small but the water pressure in the shower was great. Clean & comfortable hotel. Close to all the action of Bourbon but far enough away to get some sleep. Front desk could use classes in friendliness and the concierge was a little distracted. Awoke the first morning to a worker POUNDING on the concrete pillar next to our balcany as Dominque's restaurant was changing into another (can't remember the name) but otherwise, our stay was very nice. Be sure to stop in to Fahys Irish Pub across the street. Great place to unwind and relax after a long day of touring and/or partying. You'll be treated like one of the locals. Make sure to pet Gleason & tell all the bartenders Crickett & Stuart said hello & we miss them!

pretty good for the money
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 2/17/09
We generally liked this hotel and its location. I thought it was very cute, and the courtyard looked very nice. I wish the weather would've been nice enough to enjoy it and the pool. When we checked in, which was still very early in the day, (like noon) I was surpised that they already had a room ready for us. There were 2 ladies at the front desk who were so nice and helpful. They were genuinely very friendly and had a great demeanor with everyone. The guys helping with the valet and baggage were great too. We immediately felt very welcomed. Unfortunately, the girls at the front desk were only there for part of the day and when they leave a very surly man, who is actually the lead desk attendant, and another not so friendly guy take over. So, if you happen to be checking in while they are there, beware. It is literally like night and day with the service you get between the day and evening shift at this hotel. On our last day there, all of the water suddenly shut off in our room while my husband was showering. He was literally standing there covered in soap, like what is going on? So I called to the front desk, and when I told him what happend, he immediately got short with me. He sharply informed me that it was a city issue, they had cut off the water on the whole block, the hotel had nothing to do with it and it would be back shortly. OK, I understand when something like that happens and is out of your hands, or that I may have been your 20th call on this already. But I got no apology on behalf of the hotel, nothing but making me feel bad for even calling on it. When I asked what we were supposed to do, he repeated (even ruder this time) "This is not a hotel issue, this is a city issue, we have nothing to do with it and have no control over it." Here is a news flash, if I am a guest at your hotel and the water cuts off in our room, it IS a hotel issue, or it had better become one. I don't care who or what is responsible for it. And I would expect at least some sort of apology for the inconvenience or sincere response that lets me know you are concerned with your guests. We had to call or ask them a few other things during the course of our stay and no response was ever too pleasant. A few other negatives were that the ice machine was out on our floor, and the plumbing in our bathroom was not the greatest. I think that just comes with being an older hotel though. The toilet did not flush very well and neither the tub or sink drain stoppers worked. Nothing that really dampered our stay too bad. All in all, we truly did enjoy our stay here. The rooms and beds were comfortable and nice. And you couldn't say enough about the location and how convenient it was to everything.

Not going back!
By Petunia, 1/12/09
Not a horrible place to stay but the rooms are NOT as lavish as the internet and photos portray! We stayed in the King Deluxe and the room was VERY small and the furniture was old. The walls were white and bland and dirty carpet. They will not turn the heat on unless its under 40 degrees outside and the breakfast buffet they advertise is only open if its full occupency. Then there is the fancy bathroom they try to impress you will on the internet! HAHA this was a joke! The bathtub is OLD and there was NO water pressure. I mean it was a trickle at best not to mention hardly any hot water! The only thing positive was the courtyard is beautiful as was the lobby. Other than that I have NO reason to want to go back!

NOT A FABULOUS STAY
By Concerned Consumer, 5/29/08
We were very much looking forward to our romantic getaway but, unfortunately, a series of unfortunate experiences caused by your hotel, caused this weekend to be ruined. First, upon check-in we learned that the hotel pool/courtyard was going to be closed from 4:30PM on Saturday until Sunday morning because of a private event. While I appreciate the need for a wedding to be perfect, I was very upset to learn that the courtyard and pool (the reason we chose to stay at Maison Dupuy) would be closed for all that time. We had intended to spend Saturday evening lounging in your courtyard and enjoying it’s beauty. Because of your hotel’s decision to book a special event that closed the courtyard, this was not an option. When making our reservation, and again when confirming our stay, we were never notified that the courtyard would be closed. Once we checked in, we arrived at our room and I decided to go into the bathroom to take a shower to freshen up for the evening. As soon as I stepped in the bathroom, I stepped on a piece of glass that was on the floor and cut my foot. When I looked down I could see what looked like an entire wine glass that had been broken in the bathroom and not cleaned up by your housekeeping staff. While the cut was not serious, it did cause a lot of pain and prevented me from walking around and enjoying the French Quarter. In fact, we were not able to visit the Rodrigue exhibit at NOMA because I could not walk long distances. I immediately called housekeeping and my husband and I waited 45 minutes for them to arrive before finally leaving for dinner. Thankfully, the glass shards were cleaned up when we returned. When we left for the night, we went to turn off the bedside light and found that the on/off switch had been broken off and the only way to turn it on and off was by unplugging it. During our stay, I called the front desk three times requesting that it be fixed and it never was. Maintenance NEVER came to fix the broken lamp. By Saturday night, the cut on my foot was really hurting so we decided to stay in the room and watch television and relax for the evening. At about 6:00PM the special event’s reception started in the courtyard. The music was so loud in our room (room 418) that we could not even hear the television. We called downstairs and were told that it was a wedding reception and there was nothing they could do. This reception didn’t end until well after 10:30PM. On Sunday, we decided to leave as early as possible because we were exhausted by the horrible stay. We gave the parking our attendant our ticket and waited, and waited, and waited for our car. We asked a different parking attendant to find out what was taking so long because at least 5 other guests came after us and go their cars while we were waiting. Finally, after 45 minutes, our car arrived. The parking attendant told us that a church van was blocking us in. We were not offered any refund on our already expensive 48+ hours of parking that we paid for.
