Overpowering fragrance used to disguise smell, unclean, didn't feel very safe.

The clerk at the front desk when we checked in the early afternoon was very friendly and helpful. The night clerk was not helpful. In the morning, the same sweet lady was back at the front desk, but seemed to be the only available staff member, trying to shuffle between keeping the breakfast bar stocked, answering the phone, and dealing with people checking out....I overheard her calling someone more than once asking if they would be available soon.
One bed was missing a blanket, and had only a sheet under the comforter. (The comforter was actually brown around the bottom 2 inches of the hem on the skirt.) When I requested a blanket from the night clerk, she couldn't find one, but promised to call me when the security guard came. (?!?!) She never called. An unforunate homeless person was walking through the parking lot as I went to ask for the blanket. He entered the lobby behind me, pulled out a wad of money and mumbled incoherently to the clerk. She told him to leave.
The toilet paper roll in our bathroom (the only one) had obviously been dropped into water (the toilet perhaps) and had been allowed to dry before being reset on the roller.
Rooms are all exterior corridor.
The smell of the deodorizer was so overpowering, I developed a stuffy nose and headache. What were they trying to disguise?!
The TV continuously blurred and fuzzed.
