Never staying there again!
By ,
Chateau LeMoyne is an appropriate name for this place because, folks, it’s a Lemon. At least my experience was completely underwhelming. On the first night we arrived in New Orleans we were told that our reservation had mistakenly been booked for 1 night and 2 rooms, not a room for 2 nights. The personnel on staff told us they had no rooms available the next night (it being a holiday weekend), and if we wanted, we could talk to a manager in the morning. We tried the patient “Hey help us out, we don’t want to have to sleep in our car this weekend” approach, and were met with a lazy indifferent “not my problem” response. We spent our first night in New Orleans frantically searching for a hotel for the next night (which is next to impossible to find last minute on a holiday weekend) instead of enjoying the town. Then we came back to a hotel room that smelled of dankness and recent paint. And no conditioner available – ladies – you know how painful this can be. Thanks for the memories Hotel Lemon! The next morning, we spoke to the manager and it became apparent that his staff’s attitude was coming from the top down. He initially told us there was nothing that he could do and later as we were checking out, decided he could comp our parking. Thanks! The next day, as we went to check in to hotel #2, it was discovered that they were also overbooked, however they handled things very differently. They apologized for the mistake, told us they had already located another hotel for us (a really great hotel only a couple blocks away by the way), paid for the other hotel, called a cab and paid for fair to and from and took care of valeting our car for the rest of the weekend. Even though we weren’t able to stay there, from the little we saw, it was a beautiful hotel in the heart of the French Quarter at same price point as the Lemon Hotel with an incredibly gracious and accommodating staff. In case you’re wondering where to book your next trip, the place is called Hotel Dauphine and we will definitely be staying there in the future. You might want to do the same!

We had a wonderful experience.

The staff was exceptional and the location can't be beat. If you like the French Quarter, you will absolutely love the Chateau LeMoyne. It's right in the middle, you can walk anywhere. The courtyard is spectacular, very European. We can't wait to return

We will come back again
By ,
We just got back from staying here for a weekend, its a nice hotel, great location and the hotel staff were very friendly. The location of this hotel is excellent close to all the attractions in the French Quarter within walking distance, we also liked the fact that we knew where our car was the parking for this hotel is right across the street in a secure lot. We felt safe walking around there at night too, we had two children with us not once did we feel unsafe, there are security and police around at all times, if you want a nice hotel close to everything in the french quarter at a great price we suggest this one.

Historic Beauty
By ,
This is the PERFECT hotel to stay at if you're wanting to tour the town and NOT rent a car. In fact, DON'T rent a car! It's just an unneeded expense when transportation is available practically right outside the door. We parked the car and walked/trolley car'd the town! The staff is quite friendly and the service is excellent, especially the housekeeping folks, the bell-cap and the bar/restaurant folks. Don't expect many freebies, though. Wireless internet is free. But phone calls (long distance), business office internet (to print boarding passes) and parking (ridiculous at $29/night) is far from it. It's a lovely old, historic building, beautifully furnished with a lovely courtyard and heated pool. It's well worth the money, especially since it's short blocks away from New Orleans tourist action - including Bourbon St., Jackson Square, the River, etc. I highly recommend it!

Good room for the price, streetside is very noisy
By ,
Right in the French Qtr, easy walk to Bourbon St. Rooms are simple and clean. Our room overlooking the pool/courtyard was very quiet, however, our associate's room was on the street side was quite noisy - frequent dumpster emptying and several parades. We were in town for business so a quiet night is a must. If you're there to play on Bourbon St this might not be as important. There are much better local restaurants than the one at the hotel - especially for breakfast. All in all a good room for the money and certainly in the heart of the French Qtr.

Don't Stay!!!
By ,
My family went to Marti Gras 2009 and had a good time until we reached our hotel. I expected it to cost more because of the event ($160.00 a night) but during the reservation, the lady said that we could check in at 12pm. It was a lie. We had to wait until 4pm to check in. The parking was not free and to make things worse, the room didn't have a refigerator or microwave (even the worst hotels have them). The staff were not friendly at all. We had to wear wrist band & were told that no one without one could come in (meaning no guests). I mistakenly left mine in the room so I wasn't able to go up until my husband went & got mine (even though the lady at the front desk told the other employee that she had just checked us in). I stood at the front desk & watched at least 4 caucasians go through without them even checking them. I guess its needless to say I'm not. I would say that if I ever go back to New Orleans, I will NEVER stay at that hotel again. It was the WORST experience I've ever had. EVER!

Clean after Mardi Gras
By ,
The people at the front desk and valet station were great. The coffee in the hotel restaurant was delicious...the coffee in the room was...not; however, it was nice to have after a night of "socializing." We didn't get a chance to enjoy the pool, but it did look nice and clean. The best part is Bourbon is only one block up and everything in the French Quarter is within walking distance.

Its convient. There was a MOUSE.
By ,
This is in a GREAT location!! Only a block from the Bourbon Street, and $5 taxi ride from the Superdome. However, there was a MOUSE in my room, and it took them an hour to respond. And it did not surprise me that they did not offer another room, because the service was surprisingly mediocre for New Orleans where most everyone is friendly!!! It may have been over priced because we visited during a big weekend but the price did not match the amenities. The internet connection was amazing!

great location
By ,
the hotel was very convenient just a short block from Bourbon St.The rooms were very small for the four of us but it is expected in an old building. The room was clean. The beds were comfortable. We did not have a balcony though it appeared they were not private. We did have a window that helped us not feel so closed in.I was suprised that there were no amenities such as a microwave and refrigerator. There were no coffee or coffee cups in the room either.Expected more for a room just under $200.But would stay again for the location. There was a helpful concierge in the lobby and armed security outside.
