General Butler State Resort, Carrollton

My family had alot of staying here for Memorial Day weekend. The room was clean, the lodge was nice, the food was good in the restaurant. We ate in town several times because we were so close. We saw racoons every night. We watched the sun set from the overlook (beautiful!), played mini-golf, took a paddle boat ride, played regular golf - beautiful course - and had an overall good time. I would recommend this place to others.

We stayed in a cottage. Two nights. It was very comfortable. My only complaint was the room smelled terribly of cigarette smoke. So much so that we went out and bought incense to try and cover the smell. The towels and sheets even smelled of it. When we got home all our clothes smelled like smoke. The location is great, close to amenities but surrounded by woods. Bring salt if you plan to cook. The pans and dishes provided were sufficient but not seasonings or condiments are provided. Coffee, towels, and soap are provided. Bed was small(full) but comfortable. Many historical sights in the area, we recommend eating at the Carrollton Inn downtown, Excellent! Many winery's to visit. Roads not great for cycling, which is why we were there, narrow and winding. Next time we will bring our MTN Bikes.

Love the location, enjoy the golf course, the kids love the pool and the park with putt putt and the train ride. The only disappointment has been the restaurant as did not feel the meal was worth the price charged.

Stayed 2 days and checked in on a Friday. Bed spreads were stained and upon us changing them we noticed that it appeared as if all the dirt, etc that had been spilled on the floor was pushed up under the beds. We were moved to another room and that room was OK but had no non-slip mat or anything in the bottom of the tub in the bathroom and my wife ended up falling. Dinner meal was good but a little pricey as the things that we ate are cheaper at like Cracker Barrell. Breakfast bar left something to be desired.
