Not as good as expected

A group of girls along with myself decided to drive up to Chicago, Il on 12/28/07 for an overnight stay and shopping. The Westin is located in the center of all of the shopping, that was a plus. We had reserved our rooms over the internet as they had a special rate of $189.00/night per room of which we booked two. When we arrived, they could not find our reservation even though we had a confirmation number. We had requested adjoining rooms. That was not available. I was told at the time of the booking that it would not be guaranteed though. It took forever to get our rooms at the front desk. Once we got to our rooms, they were nice on the inside, however, the views were terrible. Views of the rooftop. Room 419 heard the dinging of the elevator all night long along with people in the hallways fighting at midnight. Had to call security. Room 425 was awakened at 3:00 am to the people on the other side of the wall having loud sex. The walls were paper thin.
I had stayed at this hotel last year and had a great experience when I paid $400 for the room. I guess the cheaper internet rates give you a room with a bad location. I also thought the hallways on the fourth floor where we stayed were dingy. Needed remodeling.
On a good note though, we had two tires going flat when we arrived at the hotel(New tires by the way two weeks ago). The entire garage staff at the Westin were wonderful to us and helped us out in numerous ways. The waitress in the bar at the Westin was super and the food at the Westin restaurant was excellent. Our waiter was great as well. All was not lost. Chicago was great even with all of our problems with the hotel.
