HVAC System is Very Loud
By bryan, 01/31/10
The metal device encasing the heating system banged and vibrated loudly all night. It was intolerable. I had read this in other reviews, so I knew it to be a problem...clearly they are not intending to address it. When I mentioned this at checkout they said they would pass it on. I am exhausted. You pay to sleep, when you can't, you must be compensated.

would not stay here again
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 02/28/09
room was not clean and five m and m's were on the floor when we arrived under corner of the bed, clearly visible from other bed, left the m and m's there to see if cleaning crew really cleaned the room, needless to say there were still under the bed when we checked ou 2 days later, glasses were dirty in room, room very dusty and drain in sink would not drain adequately

Disappointed!
By Lora, 11/28/08
I'm alone here in Peroia and wanted to have a great Thanksgiving dinner while on the road..well I showed up early and went to the bar. The bartender wasn't vert friendly and then the nice girl came to get me to take me to my table, I was waited but it was like I shouldn't be there as it was upsetting their Thanksgiving. It was a buffet and the crew who were working the buffest were very nice but my waitress wasn't attentive and had my check on my table before I even finished my entree. I wanted a after dinner drink but knew that was not goinog to happen. Being away from family and friends, I felt I was more of a nusunace than a guest. I should of went to McDonalds. and saved the bucks as I even gave a great tip. Oh, and I went back to the bar to have a night cap and all I heard from the bartentder was complainets about how she is working and hoew many kids she has and so on and son on. Yawn....boring. No go again..

Shabby
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/08/08
There is no pool. There is a small fitness center down on the main floor near the restaurant and elevators. I did not work out there because there are windows to the hallway and everyone walking by to the elevators can see you sweating it out. Yuck! They advertise a pool, but it is actually a fitness center within walking distance and you have to pay $7 a person to use it. The room was shabby and dusty, but the bed was great! Not quite "billowy" as the hotel would suggest, but very comfy. This hotel was probably very grand once, and the lobby is amazing, but the room we stayed in was quite average and the furniture mismatched. I would only stay here again if I had another conference to attend, which is why I am here now! NOT a honeymoon place! The hotel is downtown, but mind you, Peoria is one of those smallish mid-western cities with a dead downtown. So, if you're expecting some night life, there's a couple of bars but nothing spectacular. The free breakfast buffet was better than most, at least there was bacon and eggs. (very institutional though, not tasty, but at least hot) Basically, if you are here on business, this hotel will more than suit your needs. If you are here on vacation, what are you doing in Peoria, IL, on vacation??!! Go somewhere fun!!!

Excellent Service
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 02/09/08
I like the authenticity of the hotel itself. The gradeur and majestic feel of the hotel takes you back to the 20's and 30's. you feel like your walking through a part of history. The staff from the front desk to the waitstaff in the cafe conducted themselves in a professional and friendly manner. The comforters on the beds were by far the most comfortable I have had at a hotel.

horrible sevice, horrible employees
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 02/09/08
My wife and I stayed at this hotel for a military ball. We were very unhappy with the service and the staff. I had to be there early in the morning, and they were unwilling to accomodate my wife (who had just had a baby) to get into a room until 4pm. And until then she had to sit in the lobby. My wife could not move any of the luggage and I found out several hours later that they could have taken our luggage until we got our room. And because of that, my wife could not get anything to eat or drink for hours. The staff at the front desk were extremely rude to my wife and she caught them laughing at her behind the front desk. They said they would get the families a hospitality room, but it would be ready at 4pm, which didn't make any sense. We will not stay there again.

Perfect Pere Marquette
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/19/07
The beauty, the friendliness and the service can only be surpassed by the extremely comfortable bed and great buffet breakfast. If I had the money I would live the rest of my life in a room at the Pere Marquette. They went out of their way to accommidate me for a friend's funeral on Sept 29th. I will gladly sign m name...Cathy L Clark of Evanston Illinois.

Above and Beyond
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/06/07
My husband and I stayed there for our Anniversay. We bought the Romantic Package and we were so impressed. The staff was wonderful and when we checked in, they wished us a Happy Anniversay. It was a wonderful personal touch!

Here for the party.........
By Tina C, 11/30/06
The Pere Marquette put on a great New Years Eve party and we were happy with the entire hotel and party package. The staff were all curtious and polite. Next time we plan to go out and stay in we will look towards staying here again. Thank you. Billy and Tina C.
